So yeah, i've been growing my hair out to about chin/neck levelish, but i'd really like my hair to flip out at the ends for that shaggy "wings" look. The only problem is my hair is more or less straight. I searched through the forums for a way to get it in wings, but the only solutions are to either use an iron to get it that way or to get a perm. As ironing my hair everyday would be both a chore and pretty girly, and getting a perm would just be humiliating (plus that i only want a few key sections of my hair to curl, not the whole damn thing), i really need a solution for this. I've heard of hair relaxers - would there be some kind of home kit that curls your hair rather than straightening it? Or is there simply some kind of technique to growing out hair to get that flip out look? Cause i know guys with hair as straight as mine who have wings.

you should be able to get the look with the proper cut and a blow dryer and brush.  My wife had the cut for awhile and she has very straight hair also. I believe the hair is combed straight out from the head, cut evenly, then "chipped" into the ends - but get a stylist to do this.
