You might be able to get a similar look by braiding damp hair and letting it completely dry before undoing the braid. The waves might not be as big though. It will depends on whether you can do just one braid or have to do more than one. More than one will make smaller waves.

As far as barrel size I don't really know but I'd say get one that is at least the size of a quarter.

You could also try setting your hair with rollers of some sort. They come in many sizes too.

You can also use some beach spray and then define the waves with a curling iron.
DANGER! I drive like you do.

Would anyone know where to get that beach spray that Porpoise is talking about? I've looked around, but haven't found it...does anyone know where I should look? Or is it just a seasonal thing, and only comes on the shelves in the summertime? Thanks~!
