Just wondering what your opinions are on whether 40 is too old for funky?

I love funky, but I don't want people to think I'm crazy Wackoor pitiful.   Maybe it is already too late to avoid the crazy label, though, as I've changed hair colors four times in the last year (red, blonde, brown, and black) and now I have extensions (which at the moment look very goth).

I'm torn....Confused

*sigh*

Pfft, if 40 is too old for funky, I'm on the fast track to people making fun of
me. Oh wait, they already do that! haha.
I don't think 40 is too old at all! I'm 32 and there are some things I wouldn't
wear now, and there are some hairstyles I wouldn't have.... I have definately
toned down my style as I've got older, but if the laughing and pointing in the
mall is anything to go by, I'm still considered funky! :)
I know exactly what you're saying... there are some hair colours I wouldnt
wear now just because I think it makes me look like i'm trying too hard to be
one of the kids, likewise, my boyfriend had to talk me out of a Hello Kitty
jacket this winter... its tough when you still feel 21 on the inside!
Go with what feels right to you! The sad fact is some people are always
going to think funky is crazy... but as long as what you do looks good, I
don't think you'll get the pitiful label :)

You're never too old!

I'm 35 and wear colorful red, pink, blue, green extension pieces in my hair, and I don't care what others think!

Wow...Nina Hagen....I haven't heard that name since 1985.

I suppose we could add Betsy Johnson to the list - and she definitely has some funky extensions in her hair.

So far, it's 3 - 0 in favor of funky!  Yea!

If you've got it, flaunt it. Age is a state of mind.
