I was wondering if I bought the"22" Silky Straight Remy Human Hair 4oz machine weft" (on the front page) from shrinkies.net if the #613 would take to black hair dye. I want to buy it have half blond and half black, but I'm too broke to buy two colors. Advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Uff, it can happen that the hair turns green... Its never good to dye blond hair and remy hair is chemical processed hair... You shouldnt do it, it can ruin the nice hair :-(

i agree- i dont color any extension hair, its processed and could take on the base of the color not the color u are wanting.

If I were to do it I would use demi color like shades and first I would color it Orange to fill then the black on the second go. Otherwise it will not hold and will not be as nice of a color. Do a small section first. Making extension hair darker is doable. Lighter is the one I would never bother with.

I've used the Wella demi-permanent color from Sally's to dye my own hair from blonde to nearly black.  I just layered the color starting with light brown, then medium brown, then dark.  The color has no ammonia and is very gentle.  I didn't get any weird greens or purples from that.  When I dyed my boyfriend's blonde hair with a supermarket brand permanent black hair dye, his hair turned purple. 

Since extension hair is already processed, I would think the demi would be safer if you wanted to risk it....

I would also get the Regenal (I think that's what it's called) that restores the ph balance after coloring....

You can only dye virgin extentions hair because this hair is unprocessed, so  it has not been altered with silicone coating or processed in any way.  I personally think virgin hair is the best because it feels so soft and last much longer than regular hair extentions.  Plus you can customise it in any way you want.  I usually get mine from http://sultryhair.com/

Ive colored processed hair before.  I would never go lighter but if ou use a demi permanant dye there shouldnt be a problem going darker.

Wash the hair a couple times first though.  If you want to take it to black you need to build the color back up.  Dye it a medium brown, then red, then black.  Otherwise it will end up looking kinda grey.  Because its processed though I would leave the dye on longer then recommended to make sure its compleatly absorbed.

Hairheaven - re:sultryhair.com...do you have them color the hair for you?  If so, does it stay as nice as it looks?

Yes, when I order I usually get my Indian hair in dark to medium browns and I have never been disappointed with the results.  It's cheaper than having my stylist do it she charges a lot more.  However, I did once dye the hair myself to a light brown using Preference ultra-ligthning hair dye in light brown and it came so sweet.
