QuoteReplyTopic: Where to get hair in funky colors Posted: January 11 2006 at 2:19pm
I currently have a golden blonde with dark auburn extensions and would like to bring my own hair with me next time since she didn't have platinum blonde. I want the lightest blonde I can get (613??) and some hot pink or baby pink to put in there as well.
I thought I'd ask the experts here where the best place to get good quality hair that lasts 6-8 weeks at least for a good price would be.
Amm has some hair in fun pink colors, they are pre-tipped though, not sure if that is what you want. But check out her site, www.shrinkies.net. I think it is the Lush hair just dyed funky. I am wanting to try something fun also, maybe burgundy or red.
Good Luck. What method are you going to do the next time?

I'll still have to have them sewn in. I don't think my hair grew all that much really. AND everyone in town wants $400 plus just to do any of the microrings or other methods so, uhm, No.. LOL And my boyfriend doesn't know that he can help me do it myself with any of the methods ya'all use even though I'd like to try it. I'm open to suggestions if there's an easy way to do it yourself for cheaper than $250.
I want to put a funky colour through my hair but im still deciding on which one. I once had some burgundy streaks through my hair but thats about as daring as i have been colour wise. I fancy trying light ordange maybe

AJ, if you just read up some, you could probably put a few shrinkies or
microlinks yourself. It's super simple when you learn how. But otherwise,
AMMs lush is the only ones I know of too, such cool colors though! I
really want to try it....

shrinkies are super easy to do if you have help from someone to do the back (my bf helps me and says it isnt that hard at all.. lol) and with the hair (good quality stuff $100ish)and the tools(the heat gun, the threader, and the shrinkies and shrinkies removal stuff$100ish total) it would prolly cost you around 200 and from then on you would only need to buy the tools..
www.yourhairshop.com and www.shrinkies.net have good quality hair that comes pretipped, yourhairshop.com has a new line of hair called D-lux that comes in platinum blonde (im just not sure if she only has the keratin tipped hair right now, but she IS getting the stick hair in too)... i know shrinkies.net has run out of the Lush pretipped hair in Platinum 613 but has it in funky colors though
Shrinkies is a great method, its easy for DIY.. and you get more versatility out of it i feel like..
i recall though that your hair is pretty short though, right? i just dont know if you would have a hard time blending it in..
anyways.. good luck with everything, hope i helped a lil.. im pretty new with this stuff myself

Yes, my hair is still pretty short I think, maybe 3 inches. When it gets to chin length, which is probably ideal for extensions, I was planning on not wearing them anymore as that was always a cute look on me but who knows I just may buy stuff to do shrinkies myself. lol
