First, how old are you and what is your skin type (oily, combination, sensative) ?

I wouldn't use a soap to treat acne. I would find a good over-counter product to help.  Some people have good results with Benzol Peroxide, while others find it too drying. Again, depends on your skin type. Salicylic Acid did wonders for my combination skin.

There are some face soaps by Neutrogena that treat acne, but I have found those to be too drying and irritating.

lilkeke918,

I like Neutrogena as well. I did the ordering thing with Proactive for three months and didn't see any changes.  I usually stick with all Neutrogena products, and essential oils. They really help my skin and I can definately see an improvement.

I never liked proactive either. Neutrogena worked better than most for
me. What I love and use now is MDformulations glycolic facial cleanser.
The glycolic helps dissolve dead skin that clogs pores, and resurface skin.
It's amazing! Another good one I've used up until a few months ago (now
it's become slightly too drying to use on my sensitive skin) is Murad
Clarifying Cleanser.

I am using Cetaphil body soap and it works really well. Quite expensive yet effective.

You can also try natural soap/facial wash to get rid of acne. There are also natural ways to treat it. Steam can help soothe a number of minor maladies, acne being one of them. It helps reduce acne, and its glaring appearance, by opening up the pores and flushing out impurities lurking deep within your skin.
