I had a friend say white people have it easy when it comes to thier hair. All they have to do is wash it and dont have to blow dry it if they dont want to. Just wash and go is this true i mean what about white chicks with curly hair? I mean the whole wash and let air dry kinda thing. My best friend can just wash her hair and go and let it kinda curl at the ends and doesnt really worry about heat.....so is it true?

That is not true- that have the same types of problems that everyone else has- i personally have been washing (conditioner) and going for almost 3 years now with no problems. It is just a matter of learning how to take care of your hair that's all. Check out www.longhaircommunity.com there are white women, mixed ancestry women and black women over there discussing hair problems and how to grow their hair longer as well as the things that they did to abuse their hair.

Your hair is as easy as you make it. Sometimes I just wash my hair, put some gel in it, slap it in a puff and go. They are blessed in their own way and we have our blessings in another. There are many people with straight hair dying to do twists or wear a fro'. You can't expect a relaxer to give you "easy care free white girl hair". Just be greatfull for what you have. Nobody ever said you had to get a relaxer or blow dry your hair after every wash or whatever. Again, your hair is as easy as you make it.

I agree wit Simply Alex. we all have our hair blessings. It's amazing how many times I've heard " I wish I had hair like yours, then i could wear cornrows for more than a day" and such. I know i can wash my hair and go. I do it all the time, do a quick Co and one of those cloth headsbands a bit of moisterizer and im done. And we all have our hair struggles. You just have to learn about yuor hair and do the best you can.

Our hair can be wash and go, just not straight. For natural hair, just wash, put some gel in it, and go. It makes your hair SUPER curly. I wouldn't recommend it for long hair (sticky hair on your neck, yuck!).

There's also afros (which I actually prefer in the summer time due to the styling time). Just wash, comb, and GO, literally. I like to add a headband that matches my outfits. Since I've been texturizing my hair, the hair isn't as afro as I'm used to, and it's too long to wear in a manageable afro, but I can still wear it if I don't mind hair ALL OVER THE PLACE.

My point is, our hair is wash and go (RELAXED HAIR isn't wash and go), but you'd have to sacrifice and maybe wear different styles than the ones you really like.

Hair type: who knows?
Length: 23 inches as of 3/10/06
MY HAIR IS OFFICIALLY BRA STRAP LENGTH!!
Goal: Waist Length, which is only 30 inches so
ADVISE ME ON HOW TO GET JUST 7 MORE INCHES OF GROWTH!

I agree with Carameldiva...you need to go to that site and also to the long hair forum section here at HB and you will see that White people have as many concerns about hair as we do.

My hair is simple...In the summer I  CO Wash and then put it in a hair band on it to make a puff or just wear it as a shrunken fro...I USUALLY don't even put gel in it.

You can't expect to know about someone's hair if you don't have that hair. I had a white room mate and she blowdried and flatironed her hair 4 times a day. Once in the morning, noon after class, then after all of her classes were done and right before she went to bed only to wake up and redo that routine again.

I'm greatful I have unique but just like SimplyAlex said, it's as easy as you make it.

Just like everyone mentioned above, there Are pros and cons to all types.

I've heard some of them complain of hair being too thin and lifeless, I've heard'em complain its not coarse enough to style.  And have you ever tried to put their hair into a nice and smooth pony with no lumps or nothing!  I have and its hell!

By the time you smooth out the right side the left side has fallen again and now its all lumpy.

I would love for my hair to be not so porous but moisturized down to the tips like it is for some of them, but other than that.... I like what I got.  I personally think its harder to have their hair, it doesn't style easy enough for me.

Oh and that whole thing of HAVING to wash everyday, yeah.... I dont wish for that.  And that whole head lice thing too.  I'll pass on that one too!

I know that's right. I have never been too keen on fearing things laying eggs in my hair. I'll keep my non-oil producing hair thanks. A lot of my friends are white and complain about how they have to wash their hair at least every other day or it'll smell awful from oil build-up. And braiding their hair? Forget it, it just slips right out.
