I was wondering if the citrus remover can be used for takedown of fusion? Anyone try it?

yes it works. It takes a little more time than acetone, but it will work.

It doesn't work that great, depending on the type of fusion glue.  You really need acetone for the job.

Thank you. It's good to know . I'll  keep both acetone and citrus on hand . I don't do much fusion  (not in a long time anyway) but I have a potential client who  has  fusion (may be GL)  done somewhere else and may want me to take them out and  redo with the silicone rings or "shr" . I haven't seen her hair yet but from what I hear  she keeps them in for around 6 months.  So I am guessing her hair is a mess. I am not sure if I want to tackle someone elses mess. But I don't want her hair to get any more damaged. I'll keep you posted.

oh if its GL...I think alcohol is what they use for removal.

6 months....yiiiiikes, sounds like a potential mess to me!

Acetone and alcohol both dry out the glue turning it to a powder that ideally will easily flake away with a crunch of the pliers.  Anything oily, including any orange oil remover turns a fusion bond somewhat gummy and makes for a much harder removal imo.

Thank you for that info delin! I havent used fusion for awhile, but acetone is the only way I will do a fusion takedown...although I know some people are highly against using acetone.

LOL Synne! Drink the Vodka, and use medical grade rubbing alcohol on the fusion bonds! 

Although....I have heard of people using Bacardi 151 Rum on GL bonds!

synne thats so funny i was wondering the same thing got a bottle of vodka at home lol

how many percent of alcohol would work i went to the pharmacy and they asked me how many percent of alcohol or acetone i dont have a clue

i wanna take my protac out with alcohol or acetone but im a lil scared cause my natural bleached hair is fried

but im scared to use the orange oil remover too because my skin gets itchy and the last time i used it the glue of the tape was still in my hair

aimee rubbing alcohol you can buy in a couple of different percentages, I would try the strongest one. Ive never used alcohol on fusion bonds just acetone, and I buy that at the beauty supply store. Its the professional strength acetone usually found in the acrylic nail supply area.

Try using olive oil, it works like a charm, the tapes just slip right out.  You will need to wash your hair really good, to get the oil out, but I have used it, and it takes the tapes off the wefts like butter!!

Lol Sherrie, I can´t have anything stronger than wine because I rarely drink, so I would get veery drunk .

And I really do not like the stuff anymore. To much vodka and orangejuice in the teen years I think .

I´ll try look for strong alcohol and try it out as soon as possible.
