I was thinking of trying another alternative before weaving and wanted input from you guys.

I was thinking of getting either a half wig or clip ons.

I tried a friends clip on but it did not work out good. Ofcourse the made me think that maybe it wasn't for me. However with time and patience it might work. I was wondering, considering I can be short of patience does it take long to put on once one is used to it? Also is it hard to put on? When I tried it on I couldn't get it to stay. Someone said after using it for some time she saw that her hair had broken some. Anyone else noticed that?

Half wig, anyone used it? How are they? I want to save to longer hair can one do it under in the meantime or will it be to hard to have it underneath??

Thanks. And anything else you can contribute will be appriciated.

My hair is about shoulder in the back and shorter on the sides. Condition, well not the best due to a lot of coloring.

You might check out the info here on installing wefts with Protac tape.
Some of us who used clips have switched because of the damage clips
tend to do to the hair. Wigs are always an option, but it sounds like
you've got enough hair to easily cover the Protac tapes. I've worn wigs
and am now using Protac, and I can tell you that as long as I have enough
hair to cover the Protac tapes I'll NEVER wear a wig again!
Here's to the end of my BAD HAIR LIFE!

Second that. Unless you have pretty thick hair the clips can be damaging. Unless you tease your roots (damaging) the clips will slide right out. Try some Protac.

I had damage from extensions  so now I wear clip ins.  So far, no damage from the clips (fine hair) but I've only been wearing them for 2 months.  I put a dab of conditioner where the clip is going to be--I guess I *feel* like it makes my own hair more pliable and hope it will reduce breakage b/c of that. Just a guess, though.  My clip ins do not slip at all.

I love 3/4 wigs, too.  I just feel more 'authentic' wearing the clip ins.

I'll never go back to a weave--clip ins are essentially  the same thing w/ less mantainance.
