Is it possible for the width of your flat iron to have an effect on the final result of your hair after being flat ironed?  I currently have a half inch flat iron which is good but it can never seem to smooth out the ends.  Is there a possiblity that I'll have better results with 1 1/4"?

No, if your iron is of good quality it really doesnt matter what size it is.

You may just need some moisture on your ends.

Only way a flat iron width would have any effect is on the roots, maybe.  One that is too wide could prove difficult in getting to the scalp.  But other than that, sounds like you need a better iron or a moisturizing/heat protectant.

Anyone have any advice on flat irons. I have been growing my hair out of a relaxer for 4 years and it is VERY big. A flat Iron may make a little easier to maintain. Any ideas?

i have a remington wet to dry flat iron, it is really good if u use a heat protectant like beyond the zone first to spray on yur hair. it gets hot in 60 seconds,no joke, and it has a digital display of the temperature settings. i got it at bed bath and beyond for about 27 bux i think.
