Seeking recommendations for
  • volume-retaining curl relaxer home kits;
  • straightener rods; and
  • leave-in conditioners, serums, humidity-resistant products;
keywords: "inexpensive" and "available locally," e.g., from venders such as Wal-Mart, Cost Cutters, Walgreen's, etc.

Hair Type: Thin, daily combined loss of yarn-thickness; simultaneously course and smooth in texture, depending on the area; repeatedly colored (originally "mousy"), both salon and home applications; "naturally frizzy," lately a combination of limp and lifeless paired with patches of curl--extremely temperamental; medium length, desired longer...thicker, healthier, straighter, manageable.

I suggest you try the relaxer called Gentle Treatment.  It is very gentle to color-treated hair, and it will leave you hair feeling smooth and looking healthy.  Plus, it will help you to have manageable hair as well.
