I have the RK single drawn remy in 18" #4 and #2. It's okay, but like all RK wefts, it sheds like a big dog. This particular batch has a real problem with breakage and split ends. The positive is that it doesn't tangle and it looks pretty good. The splits and the shedding are bumming me out tho.

I'm at 2 weeks now with it and it's holding up very nice. Very little shedding, just a few hairs a day and that's when I brush or fingercomb it. I'll upload the photos I have when I get a moment.

Silicone rings were fine by me. The rings I had the damage with were the microrings that were threaded. They look like a screw on the inside.

:)

One of the big complaints in the past about RK has been that the machine wefts shed alot. Heck, I've gotten the hand tied and it shed, too. It's never bothered me before cuz I always went over the weft with nail glue, but this time I didn't and it's shedding like crazy.

Or should I say...was.   Took out the whole mess just now.

Fabulous,

I have been using the silicone microrings as my primary install method since we all learned about them and they are fantastic.  Hardly any slippage and no breakage.  I probably have this system on about 20-25 clients now, and many have come in for take downs and re-installs and I did not see any damage.

OK, well, call me crazy.  .  . but actually no, I prefer to think of myself as a "pioneer". . .my next install. . .is. . . heat-seals (i.e. where the hair is DOUBLED OVER) using HUMAN hair. . .from. . .RK!!

They blatantly advertise that their hair is "cuticle free" (which is what you have to have if you are going to double the hair over) and it is literally the **ONLY*** hair long enough, other than synth, which, at this point at time, I pretty much hate, to use for a doubling-over method.

Heather, who is with Hairpolice and who I LOVE, confesses that she OFTEN doubles over His & Her 50% Italian Mink and has no tangling problems with it, but I can't get my schedule to jive with hers.

SO . . .I'm going back to Betty in Atlanta who is queen supreme heat sealer (with synth hair, but does it with human also) to get a FULL HEAD of RK #22 and #8 - in WAVY, 28" LONG, installed. UPS has been trying to deliver it for 2 days but requires a sig. I will post pics of the hair itself on Monday.

In the meantime I installed some of my old #22 from RK (which I bought in bulk from Zapevaj last summer) and it's holding up fine. . .

Thanx everyone for the reply's. I am thinking my next install is going to be remy hand-wefted rk blonde and brown mix (think xtina's old hair style just not platinum and black) I am going to do a sew-in method with the silicone micro rings as my base.
