QuoteReplyTopic: PROTAC HELP!! Posted: May 02 2006 at 11:11am
Hi again everyone!, i have been in hospital since january( brain surgery) long story" anyway, I am having withdrawal from my extensions. They have shaved my hair behind my ear from neckline to temple. This has made the right side of my hair really thin so i need extensions in again. I would like to try the protac tape as i couldnt stand the sh***ies or fusion at the minute(too uncomfortable) I need to know what to buy & where from? how much tape for about 7-8 oz hair? full head, & how to install? I know the forum had something about protac a few months ago but i cant find it(and cant sit in front of the pc long enough to look very hard). Any help would be great and pfotos of how to fold the tape and attach the wefts would be a massive help. Cheers girls!!

Pro-tac is the easiest method, in my opion, out there. I would purchase 12 strips, this will give you plenty and even enough to play with. You can get them on ebay, or here:http://hairextensions101.com/Site/Store-675.html
Not sure if she ships internationally though.
Anyways, you can install the tapes as is, or you can cut them down the middle and fold them over and install that way. They best way to find out how thick you want the tapes is by trial and error. Install them as you would install any track method. Start at the nape, but be sure to leave at least 1-2" of hair out to cover the wefts, and then just work you way up. I prefer to install from ear to ear in one weft, others like to cut them up into sections, either one is fine. YOu can go as high as you like as long as you have hair to cover the top row. Many people find that the top row tends to show the tape if you fold it over, so either use half the tape and only put it onto the backside of the weft and do not sandwich it, or others have been using LG just for the top row.
Also, if you go to www.shrinkies.net I believe that she has a tutorial still up about the pro-tac.
Good luck and keep us posted!! with lots of pics!!

Just looked at your demo sherrie!! excellent, i love a "real" demo. are the double wefts not heavy? I love to wear clip ins but sometimes i feel really aware of them and get a bit paranoid. do the tapes feel like this? xx

not heavy at all. The tapes lay really flat to the head. I love them! I even do triple rows and they are slightly bulkier, but still more comfortable in my opinion than most individual methods Ive used.
Your hair looks so amazing in your picture. What is it? Bohyme? How do you get those beautiful curls?
I'd loooove to have a bit of a Pam Andersen look. What should I use?
