You are good to go with the braids. (I answered in greater detail on BHM.)

That is how mine look at the ends, but a little longer. Mine are a little past tailbone length.

I am doing my research on getting braids, which braids are best, have healthy end results (post takeout) and how to maintain.  But I keep running across the message that braids are best for those with short hair because long hair would tend to break from the weight of the weave!  Is this true?  Because I have BSL hair and I would love to transition with some braids too!  I know there are some braid wearers on the forum with long hair.  PLEASE HELP.  I found a picture of the braids I want.  I think they are called individual braids with loose ends.  They are thicker than micros.
