QuoteReplyTopic: keratin + sh****ies = shedding Posted: May 23 2006 at 8:56pm
So i just did a full install on myself with sh****ies and pre-tipped hair which I did myself with keratin, and they are shedding like crazy! So much so that I think I have to take the whole lot out and do it again! Arg!!
Does anyone else have this when they pre-tip with just keratin and dont use anything else like nail glue over the top? Did I just not put enough keratin on my tips? I am soooo irritated with this whole situation right now!!

Did you use any nail glue on the top of the tips ? This helps hold all
the extension tip hair together, the keratin helps to adhere to the
shri*** and your natural tresses.
no, i just used keratin. That what i'm wondering... whether anyone else had this problem when they used keratin by itself with no other glues like NG or LG.

Dunebug, I had bad shedding with silicone-lined microrings with hair I pretipped with keratin or E6000 without using nail glue. I then did some replacement strands using the same tips with nail glue applied to the end of the tip and those didn't shed. I think that the nail glue soaks through and sticks any loose strands in the middle of the tip together.
I'm not sure of the brand Amanda, it was from an ebay vendor and they repackaged it with their own info... so I'm not sure. Their store on ebay is called 'lengthy locks 4 u hair extension'
What brand do you use? do you get any shedding?
