The heavily-chlorinated pool water can be overcome more readily.

First, oil your hair (any liquid veg oil will do), then soak it in tap water.  After the pool, wash with a "swimmer's" shampoo to remove the chlorine, and deep condition.

Make sure to use a heat protectant before using the flat iron.  No matter what, the flat iron will be harsher on your hair and the damage it causes will eventually start to show.

How many more inches do you want your hair to grow, and how fast does it grow?  You may need to account for some small trims along the way to remove the damage.  Doing your own "search and destroy" of split ends will help, too.

Good luck. Smile

I second everything that Dave said.

The rate of hair growth for most people is about 1/2 inch per month. You can do the math by taking the number of additional inches you want, multiplying by 2, and the resulting number is the number of months it will take.
