I recently used a semipermanent that turned out out darker than what I expected. I know it's supposed to wash out in 24 shampoos or so, but is there any way to speed this up? Would using a semipermanent in a /light/ color help dilute it, or just make it even darker?

Sometimes you can wash it out by shampooing over and over. Also, using Tide can get the color out, but it may dry out your hair. Olive oil will get some of the color out, that's probably your best bet. Using another semi color won't lighten your hair.

Use a deep cleansing shampoo. One that is designed to get out product buildup or clorine green color in light hair. That should speed up the process. Do not use dishwashing or laundry detergent! Not Good!! Also putting more color on top of the existing color won't have much of an effect except for toning it slightly. So unless it is alot darker than you want, just wait it out.

Honestly, I don't know. I read it in a magazine once and I've tried it and does work. And it's also good for your hair. I have a lot of red in my hair and I have noticed that when I do use olive oil in my hair, whether I'm trying to get hair color out or doing a deep condition, it seems to bring the red out even more. But, it's pretty, not brassy, so I like the way it looks. GOOD LUCK!
