sorta beginning to think about cutting my hair

I have very thick, curly hair that I usually wear in longish at around shoulder legnth.  My hair has been pretty much the same for nearly ten years now, with some variation when I get too busy to get it cut, but lately I've been thinking about going shorter (not SHORT, just shorter).  Unfortunately, it's really hard to find short hairstyles for my kind of hair.  Any ideas for possible styles?

I have a friend with hair that sounds like yours... she has her hair in a just past her chin length bob... it is adorable...

BUT... she embraces her curliness... her hair is ... big.. sometimes...

let us see a pic to better assist you the reason i say this is because i have curly hair now in longer layers but i did cut it once to my shoulder and another time to my ear and i tell you what i was a puffball so if anything id just do some layers in it maybe a little shorter but always curly hair is best with layers. My mistake when i cut mine was i didnt do the layers now i have them but im growing it long but still layers really do help with curly hair short or long.

I can see you with something shoulder/chin length, maybe  some bangs or something that gives you some more  height on top.

My hair actually currently looks a lot like that second pic (and is in layers), but that first pic has definitely given me something to think about...
