oh my! If you want to be brown and to put an end to so many colors you might want to go with a permanent color (like Preference or something with high deposit) in a fairly dark color. Even permanent dark colors eventually fade, but that will really cover the many colors you've got going on right now. If you use a color that's too light or too sheer you will only dilute your current look (or potentially make it worse). If you dye it dark (and leave the dye in your hair awhile) it will be a more consistent color. Before you dye you might also want to use a clarifying shampoo or a professional hair color remover product. This will strip some of the color and may help somewhat to fade the many shades. Better off going dark so that you can cover the rainbow. Hope this helps!

yes i was blonde before,i do want to be brown. when i was younger i dyed my hair red for 2years..then i put a brown over it but the red kept coming through..but is that cos the buildup of the red was so heavy? hm am not sure.... im from the uk and ive not heard of clairol radiance colorgloss etc :( Lol.
Heres a picture of my hair the day i dyed it.yes, the yellow u see is the blonde coming through, and now! not even a week later, its like...yellowy orangey pinky...ergh :( lol like the bottom of this girls hair
yes, that will definitely work (assuming you want brown hair). I would recommend using something that's a bit sheer so that the colors blend nicely. If your hair was blonde before it's going to be very porous from the bleaching. So something demiperm like Clairol Radiance Colorgloss or Natural Instincts brushed through the hair and left on for a while will probably have a nice output. i would go a shade lighter than the shade you are looking for.

hiya all,ive heard ash brown is best to cover red? im thinking of dying it this, next time,to cover the red...is this a good idea? and most importantly,WILL IT WORK?
I recently did something similar to my hair. The colorist first used a brown filler to coat the blonde hair and then used a red/brown dye over it (it ended up auburn). If you're going for a lighter red you might start with a light brown filler before using the red dye. You might try leaving the dye in for a longer time and combing it through. Something that is 100 percent red might not be easy to achieve without pinkiness at home. So for that you might need a colorist.
