BUT (there's always a but) I have 'created' a new issue for myself.
I LOVE MY HAIRCOLOR! I have about 4 inches of natural growth and just keep having to darken my ends with Clairol Complements Demi to match. That's a little easier now that I got about 3 inches cutoff. Wahoo!
My issue is with all the years of highlighting and bleaching I kind of got used to the extra volume my hair had. I miss it.
Before I started highlighting and bleaching (about 6 years ago) I used to always get perms for volume and body. However, I haven't had one AT ALL since processing my hair. I'm nervous about my ends if I decide to go that route.
Opinions, experiences, tips?

I used to be a bleached/highlighted blonde too and came here about a year ago after attempting to return to my natural dark brown. After all this time, my hair is all natural color again and the damage is cut off. I have the same issues with volume. My hair is fine and bleach gave me lots of volume. I found that I need to clarify more, then use a light frizz product. I gave up some volume but also said goodbye to frizz and I HATE frizz. Maybe when your natural color comes in all the way you could just do a bit more clarifying. I hate to do that with color in my hair but I found with my virgin hair back, using a clarifying shampoo or rinse works well.

OK....I've decided to hold off on a perm or body wave. I was thinking about what is so different.......HOLY MEMORY LOSS, BATMAN! I totally forgot that I stopped using one of my favorite products about the same time I stopped bleaching. It was a victim of the whole 'saving money' thing.
BIG SEXY HAIR, FLIP IT OVER! It's awesome......and gives volume, shine AND texture.
How could I be so.......um, stupid?
I'm going to start there. It's the only thing I've changed besides the lack of bleach. It's worth a $10 try.
