hi and welcome to the both of you.

i have also decided to transition. i will use aloe vera gel, shea butter, and rosewater/glycerine/water as my leave in and cheapie productes for my rinse such as suave moisture milks and  olive oil will be applied to lock in moisture from a good oil moisturizer(not sure yet, maybe hawaiian silky)

my goal is to grow out 4-6 inches of new natural growth and do a BC. My last relaxer was in april 06. i plan on weaving and braiding to achieve my inches of growth.

For styling ideas check out www.Motowngirl.com and www.missjessies.com miss jessies has step by step how to-shingle,coil-out etc. as well as transitioning pictures of their clients.

Last relaxer:4/06
Trans. styles: weaves&braids
goal:4-6" natural
Currently: 4"uneven

I tried doing braid outs on wet hair and didnt like the shrinkage. My hair is already pretty short. Probably neck length. Its getting longer. Cornrows is the only braids I do get and I get those when I can. Thanks for ur response.

Braid outs should be done on wet hair then dried. I rollerset my own hair and sometimes do a wet wrap and sit under the dryer. Also, I have gotten cornrows. Just be sure if you get braids that it is not too tight because that can cause breakage and be sure to moisturize.

Greetings. I'm transitioning from relaxed to natural. My last perm was april 24th. For the summer I have been wearing an afro puff pony. I would co wash with suave humectant and suave tropical conditioners and also I do the apohogee protein treatment when needed.  Then, I use surge on my scalp mixed with this good hair and scalp oil from better braids. Sometimes I use parnevu tea tree oil growth creme. Then I gel up and sit under the dryer. I take a multi vitamin, 800mcg biotin, 200mg of silica, and 25 mg b6. I believe my hair growth rate has been excellent. But, I have a feeling I will get bored with wearing the same style during my whole transition. I recently tried braid outs on blow dried hair and it just didn't look good but my braiding skills or so much better. Twists I don't even wanna make the attempt and I dont think I could have my hair stylist do a rollerset for me every once in a while but I still need more ideas. So any advice on hairstyles or products will be great. Sorry for the essay.
