Do you mean wash your own hair or the extension hair?

I don't normally wash the extension hair before I install it.

I always wash the natural hair with either a good clarifying shampoo or dish soap, and no conditioner.

I usually wash the extension hair before install.  When I take it out of the package, it is usually really curly and I like the curl to drop before I install it.  I know the jetset does this, as well as the bohyme bodywave.

I suppose that if you are installing straight hair you wouldn't have worry about it.

If you are washing pretipped hair, leave it in it's little bundles.  I wash it about 2" away from the tie(rubberband, gold stuff, etc...) to the ends.
