You don't think she just chopped her hair off? I would have to go back to review the photos but from the new style it appears that her hair is pretty long in front and very short in the back. I doubt she keeps it that length too long--I figure she'll cut it shorter in the front as well.
Regardless, I have little doubt that she cut a sizable amount of her hair off within the last couple of days. Perhaps in addition to removing some extensions that made it look even longer.
She was on the Daily Show on Thursday night and made a passing comment about "cutting all my hair off" that day because she was almost done with her press junket. The way she said it made it sound like she did it herself in the Daily Show dressing room while she was waiting to go on.
Regardless of how or when, she seems (IMHO) to have gone from long, blah and stringly, to short, blah and stringy. Still not much style there. Kirsten is a pretty girl with great hair who's made some weird style choices lately. Hope she finds her way back to something prettier.

Well her hair was this length before she put extensions in almost exactly a year ago so her own hair could have easily reached shoulderlength by now while she wore the extensions.
Edit: I had another look through and her hair was just above her shoulders back in July so if it's bobbed, most if not all of it is probably her's
