Hi Everyone --

My attitude in life is 'ya gotta laff,' rite??

Ok, so I'm new to the whole extension world (i'm presently wearing sewn in wefts) & I was officially christened the other nite when a new guy that I'm dating started touching my head as we were kissing...  So i'm all gleeful happy happy then it occurs to me 'OMG!  What about my extensions???  He's gonna know!!'  And sure enuf, I get the 'what's on your head????' question ---

well, i laffingly said 'extensions-- duh' -- :o)  (i mean...i didnt want him to think that i had a really bad case of psoriasis or something LOL )

HOW do you all handle this situation??  And would other methods, like use protac or strand by strand be completely undetectable to the touch?

HAPPY HALLOWEEN everyone!Star

well.......if extensions are going to be a problem for any guy you're better off without him anyway right?!   Wink

I agree with you though - gotta laugh!  I'd just say something like, they're extensions, aren't they great?  What's he going to say....no?  I double-dog-dare him.  LOL

Here - here's my funny story, maybe it'll make you feel better.  We were at a weightlifting meet and my son tells his friends, yeah, my mom's got horsehair on her head.  Gotta love him...

Hi Dharma...I don't think that any method would be completely undetectable to the touch.

I am using Protac and LG and you can feel the wefts on my head.  My BF calls them "my speedbumps", and he doesn't mind the enhancements I've made that God didn't give me, hair or otherwise Wink

I'm always thankful my boyfriend came in the midist of my craze, so he knew when I first installed, and it wasn't like he had thought I had naturally long hair and then sees it short and long week by week and thinks, WTF?

But, usually I tell anyone when I'm having any head touching going on that I have extensions, so they don't flip out (when I get massages, facials, even go to the docs! )

I have a kinda funny story from work about this:

One time I had a lady come in for a body treatment, and it was a mud wrap, so I did the mud wrap, and while she's wrapped, I do face and head massage. So I'm doing my thing, and her hair is sliding off! She's not saying a word, luckily from being a hair whore, I know it's just a wig.

So afterwards, she comes out of the room, and she's like, I'm so sorry, I hope I didn't scare you, I have a wig on, but I was so relaxed I forgot to say anything. We were both just cracking up, I was like it's okay, I figured it out. She was like you poor girl was probably thinking my head was melting or something!

Sorry...got off on a tangent & forgot to answer your other question.

No, other methods wouldn't be undetectable either.  I've heard of some with micro-wefts saying they're less detectable in those situations, but nothing is going to be completely un-noticable.  Not even individual strands.  In my opinion, strands are less detectable than wefts just because there's less bulk in a concentrated area, but even then it depends upon the placement, etc.  Sorry!

I so have been there with the sew in method!!!   I used to freak out when people would even come near my head!  It's funny but you don't realize how much people touch your head until you get extensions and are diving away from them.... and I seriously have dodge people before!  I did have an instance before when I was with someone new and they touched my head and I thought I should say something ... didn't want him to think I had brain surgery or something!  but I never did say anything and it never came up!!!

But in the past I've always had extensions when I was single and as soon as I got involved I took them out and not one time did the guy notice my hair was suddenly shorter and thinner????  I don't get it?

I now wear the protac and I would say it's much much better then the sewin method!!  (for flatness)  and my  current boyfriend poor thing has to go through the whole hair addiction, for I am keeping these bad boys in!!!!
Current Install: European hair two rows triple wefted on bottom double wefted on top, with Protac

My son has a lively sense of humour.  He knew darn well it's human hair, but saying it's horsehair is sooooo much funnier (in his mind, and much more confusing to his friends!).  LOL Big%20smile

Nursie is right. My husband bought me $250 worth of hair for my birthday this month. He loves my hair extensions.

Hi Girls!
I think it's a very good topic, and I can say that at first I was a little nervous to "assume" my hair extensions with a new guy!
I told my current boyfriend very early in our relationship, after his hands got caught into some fusion strands,LOLLOL he just said "oh really? Ok...", I don't like to show the process of installing or how it work or even the wefts of hair however, I try to be as discreet as possible.
But I know he likes the result anyway!!Wink

How about this: I went to the sauna once and I had beautiful, curly microbraided hair on.
A bunch of us sat together and the owner of the place said: "Hey Nikkie, last time I found a couple of your extensions on the bottom of the bubble bath!" I was so embarrassed I didn't know where to look, but then I asked him if he tried them on himself.
Now, ladies, keep in mind we were all naked, so saying I felt exposed would have to be taken very literally! lol!

We all had a good laugh though so no trauma's... .

My husband really doesn't like extensions or anything fake, but he lets me have my fun. He even helped me put in fusion extensions once!

As long as we don't take ourselves too seriously it'll all work out fine.
I learn to love and try to understand everyone I meet. I see the rainbow hiding in their eyes.

This happens to me all the time! I feel like my bf is numb to my hair changes anymore (actually, lately whenever he talks to me on the phone he just randomly asks me, "putting extensions in, taking them out? Coloring, cutting your hair??" Guess that shows how much I change my hair!! )

But I just started TAing at my old school, and the first week I had the curly long hair, then I took it out, and had my short straight hair, and only one girl is like, oh, you straightened your hair!! I was about to say and it's about a foot shorter...

so this week it is long again, the poor kids (and guy instructor I'm sure) will be totally confused!!

But it shows how not observant people are!

Well the guy I was dating probably just thought I had a lumpy head.  I actually did a crappy install so the wefts were a bit lumpy.  LOLThen one piece was slipping & he never noticed in one night the right side of my head just got and inch longer LOL.  I would have probably told him oh it's just a tumor and the hair grows really fast in one spot.

Before extentions I had a bf that used to constantly put his hands through my hair, the boy was actually making me lose hair. So never big on people putting their hands in my hair.

I never worried about it when I was single.. My thing was take me as I am or get to steppin'.. Didn't stop men from tryin' to "change me".. (They thought I was a maverick to who needed to be "tamed" LOLLOLLOL) I knew my man was THE ONE because NOTHING I did or said fazed him one bit!!!LOLLOLLOL

My man could CARE less what I do to my hair as long as I don't do anything crazy (like a pink mohawkLOLLOLLOL).. I even wore a phony pony for my wedding because it was the BEST way to get the style that I wanted..LOLLOL

Oh, I miss my husband being able to run his fingers through my hair! I thinks he's afraid of ripping them out or something. Except once or twice he's pulled them when we were doin' the nasty!!! It kinda hurt, but I figured if that was his fantasy and made it okay for me to keep getting them, that was a pretty good price to pay!
I recently had a cousin ask me how my "dead person hair" was doing. I've had a lot of people say their boyfriends think it's gross becuase they think its horse hair or something.
I remember back in the day, before my extensions addiction, I would wear a long ponytail attatchment. I was dating this really hot guy and never told him, but he probably figured it out because when we were in the middle of a hot make-out session, I felt it hit my feet, and I freaked out and told him I really needed a drink of water, RIGHT NOW!!! (then I snuck it back on while his back was turned!) The next week he was complementing my "new" shorter haircut!
I also had the same ponytail come off in a hotel pool and didn't even notice until I swam right back into it! I thought it was a rat or something at first!

I should have to the poor girl that was giving me a massage, I just forget because I've had them in for so many years!
