QuoteReplyTopic: I could use some advice... Posted: November 01 2006 at 4:25pm
This is more than likely one of the most common complaints around, but its more than likely that the situation is vastly different.
I am actually writing this for my mother. She doesn't know I am asking, but she could use all the help she can get.
Now... It all started last week. My grandmother (Late 60's - never leaves her bungalow so has people visit to do things for her. IE: Hairdresser.) suddenly announced that she had, and I quote: "Booked the hairdresser for my mother to perm her hair." Now, there were just a couple of teenie problems with that.
My mother was not informed about it and didn't even WANT her hair messed with.
Does not like perms. (Had her hair permed when she was younger and it went very wrong.)
Problem was, my grandmother had already payed for it. So... off she went 'to her doom', as I put it and the hair dresser did her hair. She spoke to my mother before hand and things actually sounded promising. She was saying that, because she has thin hair she would not do tight curls, but more loose ones instead. But... It didn't turn out like that. OH no. When she got home she looked in the mirror and said "I look like an Assyrian or something!"
Yeah... Sucks huh? She tried brushing it out and it went haywire. She also washed it lots, but its just gone really wavy and coarse.
She has fairly thin hair and this has made it look and feel just like a dolls hair when it gets mattered up, or like sheeps wool or something. She is embarrassed to be seen like it and she can't keep using hair ties on it due to damage.
Does ANYONE know how on earth she can straighten this problem out? (Pardon the pun. ^^; ) We would both be very happy with ANY advice given.
