Hi ladies, I am a longtime lurker and I am two weeks into my second install. The first one was done with 1 and 1b shoelace tipped remy microlinks- not my favorite method AT ALL Dead. I was a tangled mess despite constant detangling and many products for maintenence.
Now, a year later I am back to my light natural blonde color and enjoying  Velvet Remys 613/27 piano wefts, glued in.
Way better this time around Star!!!
I went ahead and ordered the Elite Thermofiber in 24,27 and 613 from Shrinkies.net  for my next install and I was hoping for good quality for less $$

I saw Sherri's pics with her awesome curls and I am DYING to try out a new look like hers!

Any words of wisdom? I like using cheap-ass latex glue from my local beauty supply because it's easy to remove and inexpensive.  Will the synth hold up alright for 3 weeks or so?

Ohhh, pictures! Let us see some!!

Otherwise, I haven't tried elite thermofiber yet, but I hear amazing things!

I hate latex glue, I hate it so much!!! I don't know how you can use that, how do you get it out? I wanted to kill myself, I ripped out half my hair trying to get that stuff out.

I always use pro-tacs for wefts now, it's simply the best way I've found. The only problem that you may want to look at, is using it with synthetic, I know other girls on here have installed them together, but when I did with Wawa (another brand of thermofiber) they all slipped out. I really think the hair gets too heavy when wet...

Also, other people on here love Liquid Gold (LG) so that might be another route you could take...

I did a test run just in the front before this full install and to remove the latex glue I simply washed well in nice warm water with a clarifying shampoo, applied a heavy conditioner at the root, let sit while I shaved my legs (4 minutes maybe?), Then I rinsed and applied the glue remover product made by the same company, massaged the bonds a bit, waited about 2 minutes and slid them out with a comb.
The residual bits I combed out easily with a bit more remover.

I am kind of hesitant to use LG because of the need to use acetone to remove. I am fearful the acetone will ruin my hair and mess with my scalp.

I have mega short hair btw, so that may explain how I can get the glue bits out easily.

Acetone won't ruin your hair unless you soak your head in a bucket of it for a several hours.  I like to apply my acetone in a spray bottle with a fine mist and that way it doesn't run all over.

Try LG, it's good stuff.

Ohh, ok, I did pretty much the same, along with 50 other things, and there were tiny chunks in my hair for weeks! Ew.

Even while combing, I was pulling out half my hair. I couldn't stand it.

But I feel the same way about acetone, just something about it freaks me out, that's why I haven't tried LG (and my fear of glue!) That's why I love the pro-tacs, I just put olive oil, or last time, just conditioner, and they just slide right out. I love them!
