QuoteReplyTopic: Tips for slowly going blonde-should I do it? Pics Posted: January 18 2007 at 7:42am
I have the same pinkish tones in my skin & have whole head foils palest blonde (as my hair is base 5 medium brown with red ) than toned with Icy Platinum(blue ash) & Cafe Au Lait (Redken's demi Shades EQ) a warm light beige ash the rest we leave as some of my hair goes golden blonde which I quite like, I'm sure you will like the look of the gold as it really is most flattering as long as it's the right gold as in this type.Kim Catrall has always got the right amount of gold to prevent her looking 'harsh'.
That's kind of what I was thinking, gradually adding more highlights and maybe lighter highlights...that way, I'd still have texture and depth, and not just one allover color...
Now the question....what shades of blonde?

Up until recently, I've been coloring my hair at home, but not really lightening it much if any. My natural color is medium brown with reddish brown highlights. About 6 months ago or so, I started coloring at home with reddish brown. This week I went to a salon and had my roots touched up and highlights added.
I've been playing around with some makeover tools, and found to my surprise that some blondes (to my eye) actually look pretty good on me, so that has me considering going blonde. My personality won't let me just jump in with both feet, though....I'd like to make the change gradually and minimize the damage to hair if possible.
I'm attaching a couple of pics of my current color (in natural and office lighting) Any suggestions for slowly gowing blonde? Also, do you have suggestions of what blonde shades you think would work with my pale/pink skintone? I'm thinking neutral or ash, but others have said golden so I'm confused!
