We've got a few silcone discussions bookmarked in the top thread (pinned) in this subforum, called "Abbreviations, Thread directory" if you're looking for a place to start.
I used to suggest Avalon to people, but I heard their latest formula
had some cones in it, so even for those things we suggest, check the
ingredients before you buy to make sure its still true.

Hmmmmm, looks like I just have to do some research. Thats ok, I actually really like to look things up.I was using the Jason brand, but they have demethicone in them .
Amanda, how current is that list? I noticed several Jason conditioners listed. All of them I've seen contain dimethicone. I realize how difficult it'd be to keep up with it all. I'm just curious.....
I think they update it frequently. I'll post a heads-up on the Jason
How recently have you checked the ingredients on the Jason? I'm looking at ingredients (www.mothernature.com) for many of the conditioners online, and don't see any cones, but their ingredient lists online may be outdated if Jason revamped their formulas.
I have been using Jason conditioners. I use the biotin, sea kelp, vitamin E with A&C and the jojoba cos. I alternate between them when I do co only washes. For shampoos I have been using the biotin shampoo. The biotin has dimethicone about half way down, the sea kelp has dimethicone 6th from last. Vitamin E has dimethicone 6th from last, and jojoba has dimethicone 6th from last. I read this from the bottles sitting in front of me. I really do like the sea kelp, it makes my hair so soft. I just don't like the thought of using cones.
Since it is so low on the list, does this make a difference at all?
Ditto what Susan said. I just found out that my conditioner has added cones recently.
Two days ago, I contacted TRESemme through their website concerning the addition of dimethicone to their conditioner I'd been using. I told them that I would no longer be buying it because of that. I got an email from them today saying that they valued me as a customer... blah, blah, blah.... But that their products have been carefully formulated for the best possible performance and they were unlikely to change it because "the majority of users found it to meet with their complete satisfaction."
It seams to be getting harder and harder to find cone free products. Jason claims to be pure, natural and organic. Thus the reason I started using them It seams to me that a product that claims to be natural should be natural, not with one or two ingredients that get them through the loop holes!
For those in the UK there is a brand called Naked body care which does a range of 97% natural products including hair (the other 3% is preservatives) They don't contain any parabens, petrochemicals or sodium lauryl sulfate. On closer inspection the conditioner does contain a cone but its number 11 on the list so it cant be too strong, but personally i dont find it quite as heavy as normal conditioners with loads and loads... ... It took a while for my hair to get used to shampoo without the foamyness but i think my hair is benefitting from it.. At the moment im doing the CCOWC wash and it works really well, so pleased!
