i don't know about that brand, but what you need is a level 5 natural with no gold or red or ash. you can either buy from wally world, or go to sally's and the girls there can help you pick out a color. i would mix it with 10 volume for deposit only. cameron's hair is very dark, and may, in fact, be a wig...you can never tell with a celebrity. you have to be careful when going that dark...you may look washed out.
you should apply the color all over and leave on for 20 to 30 mins, then deep condition.
if a 5 isn't dark enough, use a level 4 nuetral next time.

Thank you for your quick reply. I am hoping to avoid spending money again, though and am hoping that I can do this at home. When my hair was colored most recently, it was definately a dark auburn red/medium brown. Even my colorist thought it came out more vibrant red than the swatch. I'm not sure I am trusting enough to do this in the salon again! Highlights were different. If I color it a medium brown at home, what are my risks? Can I really mess it up? I would love to be able to get my hair to a lovely rich brown (I'm thinking Cameron Diaz as I have light blue eyes) that is closer to my own natural color. I've heard good things about Garnier Nutrisse? Thank you!!
Since you've been going to a salon, and are comfortable doing so, I'd
stick with it rather than getting into the world of chemicals.
Its difficult to tell from what you say if all your hair is reddish, or
if the blonde is showing through in more of a yellow shade, so its
almost impossible for someone to tell you exactly what to get.
Your stylist can see it however, just tell your stylist that you want
the red countered and you want a warm natural brown. They may
need to test strand a few things since dye can be unpredictable on
previously lightened hair, but then they shouldn't have any trouble
giving you what you want.

I've had my hair professionally highlighted for about 15 years. It looked sort of like Jennifer Anniston's hair color. Before that, I dyed it really light blonde. I'm not too sure what my natural haircolor is...but I'm guessing it is between a light and a medium brown. I went to a salon a couple of weeks ago to go a dark brown...but my color came out more red...and my goal is to go back to my natural color...or a nice dark brown. Any suggestions? Some of my old highlights are coming through so right now I would call my color more of a strawberry dark blonde. Is this something I can do at home? I haven't colored my own hair in about 18 years! Thanks! I'd like to be a warm natural brown.
