Homemade hand-tied wefts. **PICS**

So many experiments lately trying to make skin wefts, I went the other way and started making my own hand-tied out of bulk monofiber. I have some PH being wefted right now overseas on a no beard weft so I thought I'd play with some Prohair and PH I have on hand.

This is so unbelievably easy. I've made 4oz of hand-tied with no beard (because it's synth it can be doubled over on the weft) in the exact weft lengths I need for an install so I have 5 wefts total. The length is already prelayered (no cutting needed) because you can double the hair over exactly in the length you want. So here it is! I think I've found my calling. LOL!

OMG...that's fantastic.....please do a demo.....the last demo someone did I just didn't follow....my fault I'm sure.....but maybe if we had another demo....well...between the 2 I might just get it.

Right on, amm!!!  It's that DOUBLING OVER that we need to make the best use of. . .the install area is the same but the hair volume is double!!!   Rockin' cool idea and your weft looks sweeeet!

MissDeliana (one of our forum members) has a youtube demo online http://youtube.com/watch?v=9-UTrGx6pso and I followed the same recipe as hers. Fishing line is also what I used. The filament is incredibly easy to work with and once the hair is on it, it doesn't show whatsoever. More importantly, the hair glides on it which makes it superb for getting each hair loop as close as possible. The ends are tied on the one side before wefting and the tail of the knot is snipped off when finished. I raided the S.O.'s tackle box and he had 6LB line which was absolutely perfect. I wouldn't recommend any thicker line. The wefts I made for a full install took about 4 hours. The important thing when doing it this way is to measure your placement areas BEFORE making each weft and then make those wefts the exact length. Cutting these is not possible because there's no way to tie off the ends.

Thanks, Fina! You are so right. Doubling over *IS* the key. I have only three single wefts installed in back and one horseshoe weft high temple to temple ending in back at the crown. The whole underside of my head and hair is free free FREE!
