I came up with the idea of using dental rubberbands a few years ago. Some of the girls from different forums ask me to show how to add them into the track. Sorry about the video....I made it really fast and much of the editing got screwed up. But, I think you will get the basic idea.

 If the link doesn't work

I cant see the video either. I had that method used on me with my weave. I am caucasian with silky fine hair and the lady used thread and also the little dental bands in black (the hair is deep brunette) to ad extra grip to it. Unfortunately I could not see her doing it because she was behind me lol. I could tell she was wrapping the bands around the weft though. I have looked for them in the track but dont see them so they must be tiny.

Everybody has their own technique that works best for them....just because it doesn't work for everybody doesn't mean it's bad, it just means it aint for you, at least not right now. You wouldn't believe the stupid comments I got from that youtube!! Most were very nice, and some were SUPER mean and rude. I can't imagine saying these kind of things to someone who took their time to make a video, then post it on youtube..........which took me hours to figure out how to post.  It was a labor of love.
Since I posted that video I've had a lot of people email me with requests for more videos, and kits. I asked kits? what kinda kits? they said, you know the basic tools that work for you with this method.
so I thought, okay, why not. I'll make a professional video with more info and tricks and get together the tools that have worked best for me these last 13 years. The scissors I use for a take down are sooo cool. They are called double curve scissors and take less than half the time for take down as regular scissors. Then I thought, if people are going to be rude and ugly to me......I might as well get paid for it.
Most of the people who have requested a kit are from European countries, which kind of surprised me. I read Germany ranked #1 in extension sales worldwide!!!
I didn't want to call my video "white girls with sh*tty hair track braids" Doesn't really sound politically correct. I opted for "Haole girl track braids" which means "white girls with sh*tty hair track braids" in Hawaiian. I've been kinda playing around with the price. I have to add in the cost of tools, filming and editing a video & labels, etc.
Between us.....I think if you just twist hair and pick up strands along a track and stick a rubberband on every couple of inches it would probably work well enough to hold on a weft. Once you sew the weft in you have reinforced your track. Sometimes I get in a hurry and my track looks like sh*t, but it still works.
The dental bands only come in that "got new bands for my braces color" I've found if you color your hair they take on the exact color of the tint or semi permanent coloring, and don't fade. You can't see em anyway cause they are under your weft, but if ya could see them they would be invisable.

Hey Mokipono! I thought your video was great. Who cares about mean people!
And who has time for that sh!t.

I think the kit is a brilliant idea. Are you including the scissors and the hair too?

Scissors-yes
hair-no
I forgot to mention the most important thing about the new video...I've included some info. about hair replacement. How to make tracks for different types of full head hair replacement systems to sew in. One of my clients is posted on my website showing a before and after pic. Before she heard about hair replacement she was wearing headbands or scarfs on her head all the time, for many years. The first time I did her hair......she almost started to cry, she was sooooo happy. Now I see her every 8 to 10 weeks for a take down and reinstall. The piece usually lasts a little over a year. Every time she comes to see me she brings me gifts, not cheap ones, but really nice gifts, and always a big tip. It's kind of embarrssing, but she insists. She's so funny, she's lost some weight, and dumped her abusive husband. I can't explain what a wonderful feeling it is to be able to help someone this much. She alway tells me I changed her life for the better.
I'm not writing this for you to buy anything from me, but  challenging you to open your mind to other services you could offer your clients. You can PM me if you want the email address & phone number of my integration piece supplier.
Someone asked on one of the forums why I buy weft sealer, if I make hand tied wefts. I work in the salon 3 days a week, and in my studio making wefts 3 days a week. Not all my clients can afford Russian hair so I have to buy lower grade hair for them, that's why I use weft sealer.
Mahalo for listening.....

I could not get that video to work. I will kepp trying. I openly admit Im a "white girl with crappy hair". Its thin and just wont grow. I have a hard time getting beyond shoudlder length and even if i do, it just looks thin and ragged. My options are basically cut the hair short and wear it like that or do some kind of hair extension. Its a boat a lot of us white girsl are in.
