Hi everyone,

I moved to the mid east 2 years ago. Since then I have had nothing but major hair disasters..

I had a hairdresser give me a debby harry style of highlights which left me with a dark brown base and white stripes around my face that burnt off the day after anyway. I went to another hairdresser who tried to salvage it by making the hair blonder and warmer, and while it looked better I decided to dye it dark brown.

I then had beautiful (as they call it in france) california balayage light orangy highlights which I then added more of. I went back a few months later as my roots were out to my ears..and he gave me zebra stripes through the dark roots (even though I insisted he use the same technique). I looked like a golden zebra. He then tried to cover the roots with a diacolor, basically giving me the grown out look again. But he then combed it through the rest of my hair! leaving my formerly golden highlights a horrible light ash brown.

How on earth do I get my hair back to medium brown? It's now a mixture of ash and orange (I didnt even know that was possible), and dark brown near the nape. I have about 6 different colours in my hair, and some white bits that he says is 'dead' hair and cannot by dyed. His advice, dont worry about your hair so much. He is supposed to be the top hairdresser out here..there's no one else I can go to..

There is a beauty supply store out here, selling mainly low end crappy european items..I know I need a filler but no one here seems to understand what I'm talking about..when I complain that new color isnt taking, they just tell me the hair is dead.

Any advice please? I'm going crazy here..

I can't help you with color .... but if you are looking for products I'm sure you can look and order them over the web ...... just google "hair products" and I'm sure you'll find a bunch of stuff!
I  hope someone else can offer help with your question as to how to get your hair back medium brown.
I've spent all day on these boards and have written down lots of products I want to look into .. such as some deep conditioners.  Once someone responds to you, you might want to write down some products you are looking for so you can order them over the web, hopefully the locations can ship to the Middle East.

I'm so sorry to hear about your hair!I'd go crazy to.How long as it been since u got it colored?I'd wait atleast 4- 6 weeks before doing anything if i had it done recently. After than, I'd do it myself.Cuz the last time I got my hair done at a Salon the girl made my highlights pretty, but alittle bit turned orange.Keep in mind this was the second time i went there in a month. The first girl did the color good, just didn't do thick enough streaks. So, I went back & got it done by someone else cuz she quit.Well, to make a long story short.I got my sister-in-law to foil my hair & it looks great. It's way blonder like I wanted & no orange. So, I'd for sure do it yourself.Don't pay alot of money for someone just to screw it up.I hate to tell u, but it sounds like to me.U r gonna have to get a dark color to cover all those colors in your hair. They say color over color doesn't work, but I disagree.Cuz I have done it since I was 12 & I'm 31.If u get a color at a store make sure u don't get a cheap ass one.Don't get Ferida from Loreal. It's a good color only if u don't color much. It's too damageing to hair.I'd get Loreal Excellence Creme. It's for dry hair.Well, remeber don't go to a Salon for color.Maybe if u go only go to get a treatment for dry hair. They can put a really good deep treatment on it.I forgot what it's called. U should ask around & then color it your self.Good luck!
