Hi, I am a budding stylist!
and my friend let me cut her beautiful one-length BSL hair. I gave her lots of layers just touching her shoulders. The remaining length below her shoulders is stil BLS but thinned out. She got lots of compliments at work, so I was very happy.
But I really didn't know how to achieve a look for her after the cut.

How do I get her longest bottom layers more or less straight but spread out and stay that way, with the rest of the layers given volume and roundness?
Would really appreciate some ideas on how to do that. thanks!
I would say just use a round brush and a soft hold gel. For the bottom, use the round brush the opposite way (roll up and towards you) and for the top roll the brush down and towards you.
The hair on the shoulders should naturally roll up (because of her shoulders) and stay seperated.

I would apply a volumising mousse to the crown area and blowdry with a round brush, lifting and drying the hair at the roots to give plenty of volume. Then to slightly kick out the ends, again with a round brush smooth the ends out. Applying a good finishing product will help the style stay in play, maybe a fibre gum to add texture to the style.
