Hi guys

I have just brought some thermofibre and was wondering the best way to curl it?

Ive tried curling tongs and it curls but drops out pretty quick - maybe the tongs arent hot enough or im not keeping them in enough?

I also tried the hot water dunk using boiled water. the first time just a few seconds the 2nd for about 10 seconds

for those of you who use this method how long do you hold the hair in the water and is it boiling hot?

any other advice ladies?

It's not about how long in the hot water, you need to let it cool before you undo the curl. Usually I spray mine wet, curl it with a hot curling iron, undo the curl into my hand and hold it til its cool, then WALA perfect curl until I straighten it.

Yes, Mrs Wozzy is correct. The trick is to hold the curl until it cools, otherwise it will drop out.

Coming right out of the shower (the hair has to be very wet), spin it around the curling barrel, and let it sizzle for about 2 minutes, then when you take it out, hold the curl in place for about 10 minutes with a bobby pin or something...it'll stay for a long time with that...

Lately, I've been putting a slight curl into it with the flat iron at the bottom, I swim about 4 times a week and have had this hair in for a month, with flat iron, it always looks as good as new (which is impressive since I abuse it half to death - dont shower directly after the pool and everything)...its really amazing...you can also get slight curls to hold by bending the hair around the flatiron....

Hi guys

I am leaving it to cool afterwards.....

2 minutes in the curling tongs out of the shower? and that doesnt frizz it?  human hair would just about be on fire after 2 mins!

I leave it in the curling iron til it stops popping and fizzing, about a minute, no the thermo fiber LOVES it. and tbc is right, if it starts getting frizzy, wet it and straighten it, and it looks brand spankin new!

Hi TBC

which thermo hair have you got in???

Im using evantra futura - by west bay - havent tried any thermo fibres before - the woman at Iwig said this was the one out of their brands that most ppl ordered.  Cost $13/pack.   I saw it somewhere else for $10 but they wont ship to new zealand where I am :(

Ive had it in for 2 days - its fine so far but obviously 2 days are WAY too early to say.  the curl seems to be holding up ok.

I know the synthetic (plain non heat resistant) i had last time I tried synth lasted less than a week - I found it tangled and was hard to comb, and after sleeping in it one night without plaiting, it was so matted the next morning I couldnt comb it out without stretching and snarling the fibres and ended up cutting it off short.  My concern is that the same thing will happen with this - which i hope it doesnt as I actually prefer the look of the synthetic to HH.
