QuoteReplyTopic: Newbie w/ extension question! HELP Posted: April 04 2007 at 1:45pm
Two questions exactly. . . .
I had GL put in about a year ago and it ended up costing me w/o tip 2500. I really didnt do a lot of research to see what they cost but now I am seeing that I might have been charged a bit too much anyone agree??? Anyway more importantly. . .
I had my GL taken out after about 2 months b/c I just could not seem to style them like the salon did (super straight w/ flat iron) every time I tired to do anything they would get frizzy and really poofy - also I dont think they seem blended in w/ my hair real well
Now, I really want long hair again - My hair is about down to my jaw line and all one length. I found a place (www.hairbymorgan.com) and her reviews online seem to be quite good but I dont know about fusion/hollywood hair - also my hair is a lot shorter now as described above and I worry about blending - natural look - I dont want real long extensions just maybe to my shoulder nothing longer
Any tips for someone w/ short hair wanting extensions. .. also there is a e book about hair extension w/ before and after pics I would like to see more of people w/ short hair getting extensions but dont want to pay 40 bucks if the e book is not worth it anyone seen it???
Actually any good advice would be helpful. I did buy a headband wig thing by tressallure I think it is the "cool" type but I havent gotten in the mail yet.
By the way I have short hair b/c every 3 years or so I need to have a noncancerous growth removed from my brain so I doubt I will ever be able to grow long hair of my own

Yeah, the GL are expensive. Fusion are great but it's a lot of
maintaince and you'll be spending a lot to keep it up. If you really
like fusion, is it possible to find a friend to do it?
I don't know how short your hair is but I'm guessing the weft method
may not be so great since it might show on short hair. You also need a
lot of wefts to blend if your hair is short.
I wouldn't buy any book for $40. It might be good but there are some great
websites out there, ie: http://shrinkies.net/
Honey, check my last install, my longest hair is 6 inches, the back is 3 inches and I put in 18 inches (myself) Here it is...
I am loving my hair!! I finally got it razored, then I curled it and blended it in. For only having 5-6 inches of my real hair I think I did okay.
There is no reason why a professional shouldn't be able to get it blended, I'm an ametuer and did it. Now, I did use alot of hair and part of that is because I used 3 colors. This is done on wefts with prostick and LG and the top are these little invisible seamless wefts I made.
Malibu is right, do a search and look at hair galleries, don't waste money on a book when you can look for free on line.

you may be insterested in a method around called protac. You can check out the tutorial at shrinkies.net. it's really very easy, very cost effective and easier to install & maintain. Plus, with shorter hair, you'll get better coverage and have an easier time blending with wefted hair instead of strands like the GL you had.
Also, at hairextensions101.com in the forum section, there is a place with lots of 'before & afters', it's in the install section.

sorry if this sounds rude or whatevr...but is that a girl or guy..the last pic???? when i did a shoot recently the owner of the house was there...thats a doctor...expensive house in south beach..lol...the guy had extensions...so just curous if guys really do get extensions...lol i just laughed to myself
This is my first post. I need to get a good picture of my hair. But I went to a professional and had hairdreams put in my hair and a seamless weft put on the top. Hairdreams is like the fusion method, I guess. They use a keratin bond to hold the hair on. Anyway, I don't have a lot of upkeep with it. I haven't had any problems with them falling out either. I've had them for a month now. I love them because I have naturally thin, baby fine hair and now I have long thick hair. I definitely get a lot more stares from the guys now and I think is makes my husband a little on the jealous side. Anway, I will post some pictures soon.
I have 14" hair dreams extensions and seamless extensions.
