I seem to recall Metalgirl took a class last year on braiding and weaving.. Perhaps she can offer some insight into where/what class she took.. Unfortunately there aren't a lot of classes around that teach braiding and weaving techniques.. Most stylists who've mastered braiding & weaving have been braiding & weaving for YEARS.. They don't even cover it in cosmetology school. (My girlfriend gives me a weekly recap of her training.. So I feel like I'm going through school with her ..) So my girlfriend is gonna put in some time at my stylist's shop to watch and learn braiding and weaving from a master first hand..
That would be my suggestion to you as well.. There are so many intricacies to doing full head weaves that looks natural that you probably won't get from a class... I would think that working with an experienced braider/weaver would be the best way to understand the ins & outs of weaves.. Learning how to braid isn't enough. Knowing which braid pattern to use and track placement techniques to achieve a particular style are important factors when doing full head weaves..

Tangles Toni Love offers a class she is at most of the big hair show I bought her DVD it is pretty good.I also saw you walking around at the Issis show in Feb 2007 so maybe you missed her booth.
I saw Toni Love's booth at the hair show. She does an Interlocking weave and she also using uses hairpieces from Onrite. She put a piece of the interlocking weave in my hair and sadly it slipped out within a few days. I don't think it's suitable for straight, fine hair.
I do think it would be great to take her class though.
I have a few Lisha Coleman tapes, and she has some really good techniques for weaving. Also, check out the hairtogo site. ( I forget the address).
I bought the cable weaving machine from Cindycut and I am really impressed with it. It was pricey, about $600 or so, but it really puts in a nice small track and stays in well. I don't use it as much because I have to say I'm a little intimidated by it though. You see, the electricity holds the tension as you weave the cables, and I'm afraid of it pulling too hard on the client's hair. Now all the people that I used it on swears it didn't hurt and it was comfortable.
For my few weft and sew clients that I currently have, I am usually using a track made with micro rings and then sewing the wefts on. People who have worn the braided track weave are really impressed with how flat the microring weave is.
Ive done training with Weavemasters Hair Extensions about 2 years ago and I still use every technique I learned. I can work with any hair texture and length and the company has a really good client referral system too. Now I only do hair extensions and custom lace front wigs and I make way more $ than I used to!
Check them out at www.weavemasters.com
I also did classes with Andre and New Hair, but honestly I the training was not good for me. I am a hands on learner and I need to be able to ask questions and work with patient educators. Thats just me though
