Not a forum about any one person, but a few months ago there was a significant bang trend. Now suddenly you have Selma Blair, Mariska Hargitay, Elisha Cuthbert and Victoria Beckham all back to very short styles, Halle Berry supposedly going short this winter, and it seems like there is finally something to talk about regarding Celeb hair. After several years of frankly boring hair news are we seeing some real action? Is it safe to call short hair back and is this trend moving from the celebs down to the real world as far as anyone can see?

In my lifetime, Trout, really long hair was definitely out of style until about 1970, and then again in the late 70's. But if "short" was ever "out", except for about 3 years in the early 70's among the very young, in my observation, there have always been WAY too many women defying the "long" trend. Pixies have *always* been common where I live, esp. on women over 30 or 35. As for today, I think that the trend has been shorter, about 3-4" on average among longhairs. And the number of real shorties has probably increased about 50% among women under 30 since 2005. Thankfully, there has been no stampede of crops as of yet. Blessings, Bob
P.S. Near NE cities, esp. Philly, ladies with flowing locks are extremely rare, compared to the burbs. (lol)

I bet if you go to Walmat you will see more longer hair pass the shoulders or longer. For some strage reason I see longer hair there then anywhere else. Anyway I would start counting the end of long hair. There is always actress with long hair unknowns that get a big break. So I'm not ready to throw in the towel just yet.

I guess most celebs--and women generally--don't stay either long or short but tend to alternate fairly regularly. Those women who stay almost always short or long are really in the minority. I have to admit that it is the women who change suddenly after a long history of being short or long who interest me the most.

What's news to me and what's news to you may be two different things, Trout. If it was so boring, I can't believe you wasted years of your life here. I've always found it entertaining -- disappointing many times because of the before/after changes, yes, but always entertaining.
