18" #4/5 Bohyme with fusion

20" Dyed Russian #22, I thought she could have used 2 more ounces, but she only wanted 4 oz. so it's kinda thin, but the most gorgeous healthy blonde I have ever used!

21" virgin russian hair #4 with a red tint. She had shed a lot of hair after her pregnancy and mostly wanted it thicker. Russian hair is a dream to work with! She has a really fine hair shaft and this blended seamlessly!

Sorry, I don't have the best camera! In the first pic, the girl wanted her hair cut really choppy, you can't see the layers really well in this pic, except the first shorter layer. I kina hate chopping it up because then the end of the hair ends up kinda thin in my opinion. Now that I look at the pictures, my cuts look kinda crappy!!!!!!!! I'm usually pretty anal about the whole install, including the cut!!!!!!
My fave was the third install, she looked so hot!

LOL!

Yeah, do tell because I know Tangles would love to try it and after the way she spoke about Gene and Susan too, she needs to try to find another source.

Thank you Thank you!!!!
I had some russian hair left over from a HUGE order I placed that was single drawn and in original ponytails, which is the only way you can get it when you order by the kilos. It had some GORGEOUS hair, and some pretty good hair. You never know exactly what you're going to get. I've got to look up the company name, it's been a while. I also got some russian double drawn hair from www.xxxxxxxxxxx.net. It was really beautiful also and I didn't have to do any work to it, it was just ready to go. Pretty pricy though.

I have a feeling I know what vendor your'e talking about for the russian - GEORGOUS hair!

your installs are BEAUTIFUL as well! I can see your perfectionist tendencies are doing quite well for you. I love that last one with the red tones especially.

holland, when you get a raw ponytail and it's single drawn what do you have to do to get it looking good? I would think you need to send it off to get cleaned up? Is it literally cut off and sent to you or do they process it at all?

it comes to me exactly as they cut it off the head. They put it back in a ponytail, bound it with a rubberband, and cut it off. It hasn't been washed or anything, but I've never had a ponytail come to me dirty, greasy, or gross smelling. They are all clean.
I will shampoo and and let the ponytails deep condition overnight. Then I unbind them, draw out the hairs that are shorter than 5-6" (which there are a lot of surprisingly) by TIGHTLY gripping the hair mid shaft, and using a fine tooth comb backwards up the ponytail. This will draw out all the shorter hairs that are useless. Then I will trim the ends at least and inch or two, so the bottoms of the hair are nice and thick, not stringy and thin. So you usually should order the hair a couple of inches longer than what you want the end result to be. I ordered hair that was 23-24 inches long, and most ponytails ended up being about 19 - 21 inches long. Then, I carefully split the ponytails into 2 ounce increments, which I weigh on the scale. The hardest part of the whole process is being extra careful to keep the hair cuticle alligned, root tips with root tips, ends with ends, because if you have even one hair turned in the opposite direction it can create a little ball of tangles. It took me three days straight to do one kilo of hair. So you can see why sometimes it is just easier to order from another company that does all this work for you. Plus, if I were to completely double draw the hair to make it all one length, I would lose SO much hair, and I don't know how to keep the shorter hairs, they do it with a hair hackel, but I can't find anything online that shows how to do this to salvage all of the hair. You can see pic's of the end result at http://jholland7.photosite.com/Album1/?orderprints=true

Holland, you are amazing. That's alot of work.
Do you save a lot of money ordering from this company and doing this yourself? Except for the washing and deep conditioning overnight, it sounds like what I have to do to begin pre-tipping my fusions.
The remy company I use now doesn't have as many short hairs as the one I used before. As a matter of fact I don't remember seeing any. It was as though the old company used them as fillers or something to add weight and bulk to get 4 ounces.
And God help you if you let them slip. You have to divide them into even smaller sections and fan the hair out and separate the ones that slipped so you can salvage that hair or you'll lose most of it when you pull the pre-tips you've made to make sure you don't end up with shedding, geesh!

Holy cow!! So...I would think if you take a comb and comb up the ponytail you would get it all bunching up? It sounds like you're teasing the hair?

Also, when you say end to end and root tips with root tips what does that mean? are you saying that if one hair goes lower than the rest of the hair it will tangle or do you mean if one hair falls out and you put it back in the bunch (and it's facing the wrong direction) it will tangle?

bty, the hair looks gorgeous!!
