you could get very highlights weaved on top and a few on the side and toned...if the hairdresser uses 40 volume and tones it you can achieve this look

Um....maybe go to a reputable salon and ask for very thin, very subtle highlights?  I'm just worried that DIY with the cap may be too risky of an endeavour for someone who has never colored before. By the way, you have a lovely haircolor!  Think subtle - sometimes, a slight change makes more of an impact.

good advice from Bnbivi00.....you can use loreal bleach from sally's...they sell the cap and everything you need.  to buy a kit can run from 10.00-17.00 and it cost me 6.00 to get everything that is in a kit.  that loreal bleach i have heard from a stylist that it is the best bleach....colors come out beautifully.  i tried it on mine yesterday and it is really pretty...let us know what you decided to do.
happy coloring

Personally, I wouldn't have you do an all over color.  I would give you subtle highlights first to see if you like going lighter.  If you do, I would slowly increase the amount of highlights and how blonde you go.  I wouldn't go too blonde though.....

I'm a natural brunette who has never changed her hair color and i am really starting to want a change.  I've tried the online color selectors, but none of them seem to help any.

My hair is a just a bit longer now.

I don't want to go all the way in this extent (may be too drastic for me at this time) but i love Keira Knightley's hair styles and coloring.

I really want it to look natural...i hate it when people use hair color that is all one solid color because you can tell it is face.  Please help!
