a color glaze is a temporary rinse on the hair..that includes alot of shine..John Friedman sells them...also all salons do them as well...they are pretty cheap usually ranging from 10-15 dollars...depending on the porosity of your hair...they can last up to a week or so...Sallys Beauty supply sells alot of them...it will help to even things out as you work through the color form the henna....a brown gloss would work and even a purple like shampoo would deposit some color to even out the red and orange tones..Aveda makes shampoos that have color in them...their is one that deposits just brown tones and does blend the grays..it works great for my sister...its the clove version..you can go right to their website www.aveda.com and purchase them there...i hope this helps...henna has to grow out of the hair...its resistant to bleach and other permanent colors....
it won't do a thing...henna is so permanent that nothing can lift it nor deposit over it...the best thing you could possibly do would be to get a color glaze and use that instead
I have very thick hair that is also very gray. I tried Light Mountain Cover the Gray and could not get the result I wanted -- if I did manage to get the right color, it did not last very long, and the result was more unsatisfactory every time I used it. Maybe I persisted for too long with this product, but I wanted to use something that was safe and natural. Now I have a red/orange tint with gray roots -- not the effect I want at all. My natural/original color is dark brown. Surely it couldn't be that difficult to get back to that!
I have had Clairol's Natural Instincts recommended by several people and would like to try it. The problem is that this product cannot be applied over henna. My options are to wait until the hennaed part grows out -- which wouild be a while -- or to find another product to use in the interim. I am very concerned about hair color safety and want something that would be gentle.
