I went for a consultation for a braided weft and i did not feel comfortable with the technician. I went for another consultation where they do strand by strand clamping. I stressed in another forum that GL had ruined and damaged my hair so I dont need anymore damage. she is charging about $500 for a full head including hair. What do you guy's think?
Well since you had trouble with GL (I did also) I think you should stay away from ANY type of glues or any method that uses glues be it wefts or strand by strand. Something like Hairlocs which uses no glue and just a copper or metal clamp bond might be a good option for you. I didnt care for Hairlocs myself but it does not use glue and you might like them better. The only trouble I had with them is they really slip a lot.
A sew in weft might be a good one for you also but it sounds like you went for a consult but didnt care for the stylist. Did you like the method itself? Maybe just try to find another tech you feel better with but give that a try. The good thing is its less expensive to get tracks done and there is no glue, just sewing the weft onto your natural hair thats been braided. If your hair is fine and I think you said it was, opt for a micro hand tied weft and try to find a stylist that can make a very small, flat laying track so its not bulky and you get good coverage.
Thanks alot....I have called around a few places and they all said to go to the store and pick out my hair, but I have no idea what will fit me and what will not. Guess I give the clamps a try.
Well when it comes to hair, match, match, match is important. You want to get as close as you can to your texture which will make it more believable and also more comfortable. There is nothing worse than conflicting textures because it will make you feel like you want to shampoo all the time and use styling products. Try to shampoo only once a week using a sulfate free shampoo or whatever your stylist recommends. Don’t try to save a few cents by using Suave or drugstore crap
I alwys use good shampoo. im a big fekkai and ojan product lover, I guess i have to figure out what would be best for the extensions as well as the binding I choose.
