I am having microrings put in my hair later this week and was wondering about when to colour my hair.. I have read that mircorings are less likely to cause damage if they are installed on non processed hair.. I have been waiting for these extensions to colour my hair, and my regrowth is now quite long... I was wondering, would it be better for my hair to install the links before i colour.. so the links are in my regrowth and on non-dyed hair? if i do this, how hard is it to DIY colour the rest of my roots and top layers of hair around my extensions? my hair is naturallly medium brown but i have been dying it black for about 6 months now. although it is only really my roots that are quite obvious, i wanted to colour all my visible hair to get the newly colour shine.. should i install the extensions then just dye my crown and hairline?.. so many options. Iv never had extensions before so im not sure just how much natural hair is visible once they are in...

any advice or experience in this matter would be great..
thanks xox

I think you can color before you install especially if you're going darker and not lighter. Many people go much lighter than they are and then install their extensions.

Tangles does hairlocs so she would probably have the best advice.

ok, it would certainly be much easier to just dye it first, my hair is quite thin, fine and short, so i am trying to avoid doing anything that may risk damage to my hair!

i personally have never heard that your hair is more prone to break after color with locs.
damagea comes from poor install and removal. you should be fine. i color hair all the time and do installs.

I do root color around micro rings and shrink links all the time for my clients.  Just be sure to rinse the hair well.
