I used to put extra wave grease on my head (360 style) right before I would get hair cuts thinking that would help me get a better cut and make my waves tighter...

actually my barber told me sportin waves iz what i needed and a brush and brush all da time and i would be fine... so i really dont have one

I would brush my hair in wave pattern thinking thats how u get them.When i was in 11 Y.O.(2000) i permed my hair while i had a fro and i ended having jerry curls thinking i was gone get sick waves.LOL

Share one of your funny stories about when you first started waving. 
 
Here's mine.  I had been waving for a few months and I got scalped in the early part of '06 and I was highly upset.  All my hard work had been cut off.  I needed my waves back and I needed them back fast.  So, I asked around about how to make my hair grow fast and I was told Sufur-8.  So, I packed my hair with Sulfur-8 and then put on my wave caps and went to sleep.  I could feel the Sulfur-8 tingling, and I thought I was good.  But, when I woke up my pillow was saturated with Sulfur-8.  When I tried to wash and dry my pillow, the Sulfur-8 smell wouldn't dissipate,.  The smell was still intense.  That was the end of my pillow and the end of using Sulfur-8, lol.  That's when I learned my first lesson about products and how they cannot fix wave problems overnight.
