QuoteReplyTopic: Finally Did It!! Posted: August 13 2007 at 12:11am
Well, I finally went ahead and did it! I got rid of the GL bonds that I've had for such a long time, and then waited a good week for my hair to get a rest (thank goodness for those pony tail clips!) and then got a weave put in! And I love it!!! I got three braids put in with double wefts on each one. The last two wefts are russian 26" and the other four are Bohyme 22". What a difference! I love the thickness of it too, something I never seemed to have with GL bonds.
And the best part is NO MORE SHREDDING!
I should have done this a long time ago. I work out and run so I sweat terribly, especially in this humid heat we're having now, and it feels so good now not to have to worry about "slipping" bonds falling out, especially in public!!
I posted some photo's below,
The first one is with the hair curly, which I usually wear,
The second one is one with it straight, and next to me is my daughter. This is her real hair and her boyfriend took the photo of us side by side to compare them. I don't know who she takes after though, I only wish my own hair would grow that long!!
It looks very nice. I am always so envious of people with beautiful, long hair naturally like your daughter but yours looks fantastic and it sometimes impossible to tell if its a weave or extensions anyway like in this case!

Oh yeah, I just read that you mixed russian with the Bohyme. Let us know how that is working for you. It looks to me from the photo that you have a LOT of hair so my guess is the Bohyme added fullness and the Russian kind of gave it softness. Do you find the textures conflict? It looks fantastic. I was also interested in mixing and matching another texture with the Russian to get a little more body. Let us all know how it works if you dont mind.

Your hair is very pretty I think one of the prettiest installs that I have seen. I love the pic with it curly. I also would like to know how the two hairs mixed. I am about to do the same thing. Also what kind of bohyme and russian is it. I mean is it wavy, curly, or bodywave? Thanks
So far so good. I can't believe it's been 2 weeks now and no shredding or drying up like I had with the GL bonds.. Usually after one week the hair would already have started thinning out I could kick myself for not doing this sooner, but I guess better late than never now.
Sourgirl, the tracks start at the top in the back of my head, then two more tracks under that.
Juliap, both hairs are silky straight. I kind of wish that I had purchased wavy though because I do have to curl it every night. I don't mind doing that since Im use to it, but now, with this terribly humidity that we're having the curl comes out by mid day.
So far so good with both the russian and bohyme together.
Krimsa, no the hair doesn't confict at all and seem to go nice with each other. Since there is so much hair now naturally I have to brush it alot more, and it always come out so silky soft. It even combs out nice right after washings. The bohyme's hair is thicker than the russian hair but still feels just as soft and silky to me.
The only difference I've noticed between the two is when I curl them. The bohyme takes alot better to the curl than the russian does but I find they compliment each other with the looser russian curls hanging in the back.

Thanks for the input Carol! Please don't forget to let us know how the two different hairs hold up after like a couple of month, it would be really interesting for a lot of girls here
Interesting! yes do keep us updated as to how the two types of hair hold up over time and washings. Even if say you notice the Bohyme is not holding up as well and becoming tangly sooner, whats the harm? That hair is less expensive so you simply swap it our for fresh and you are good to go.
I think in light of how its going (and the fact it looks simply fantastic) I will try one weft of the Bohyme in probably a silky straight to go with the Russian and give that a whirl on my next install. The curl in yours does look nice but for me, since we are also very humid here, I think i will stick with straight. Its just less work and I can always curl it once in a while if Im patient enough.

You look great! The hair looks very luscious and healthy, please keep us updated on how these two are getting along, since this might be an option for me as well
