Oh no... not nail glue! You gotta find something just for extensions. You can get a different kind of glue, like Proclaim from Sally's. But that glue is latex based and doesn't hold very well at all. And it is just nasty. If you want to use wefts, but not the LG- you can get some tapes, like Protac or Supertape... they are basically a double sided tape that you stick to the weft, and then to your hair. I used to do liquid gold- and now I am using Supertape- which holds alot better for me and is a heck of alot easier for me to remove. There is also an adhesive called Vapon, but I havent tried that before. Have you used LG but want to try something new?

Hi Amanda,

Great response.  I actually had someone email me the same question before.  I think maybe the confusion is because you use acetone to remove keratin and because LG has a special remover that some people call simply a remover?  This may cause some confusion for people who are just getting into the extension world.  Vapon works well although I have heard that Protac or Supertape is much better and plan to try that next time.

Hi Ambie,

Welcome to the forum and thanks for sharing your questions.  There are lots of experts here and I doubt there is no questions that they can't help with.

Hi thanks for your answers , no i havent used lg yet but its harder for me to get ahold of becuase i have to get it over the internet and i didnt know where to even look on here .. but i got some off ebay so im excited to try it out ... I wanted to try to do the ...well i dont know what to call it lol .. where you cut off the bulky part of the weft after you attach the hair to your own hair . Ive used proclaim and i just cant stand it on my head ... and really i couldent stand the heavy part of the weft on my head thats why i wanted to try lg , Id like something as invisible as possible and feels most natural and lightweight.

Hello,
I am not sure if you are wanting to do a strand by strand  install, then? Or, perhaps, you are referring to what can be called a "seamless" method of hair extensions application.
If you want to do the strand by strand, I would suggest NOT using LG. It can be very messy when trying to do this method. I would rather suggest a glue gun and keratin glue or keratin chips.

However, if you want to do the seamless, then here are some links you can look at to get some info.  You'll probably want to get some adhesive tapes also- LG alone will not be enough to hold the hair cut from the weft without terrible shedding.
Take a look at these and you will get a better idea:

Great advice Sassy.
Ambie, you can also get hair that's seamless with the adhesive already on it but after you use it once you would want to get the supertape to use it again.

It is what it is...

Hi Malibu,

Thanks for the link.  Have you bought any of the GlamourHair kits?  What did you think of their hair?  Do you know if they use European or Chinese?

Really though, I know what you mean. I use clip-ins that come on a weft and I HATE that feeling too! I'm glad they arent permanent because I can't take it for long. I'm trying a new method today. There is another post out about it. I purchased I-tips (like I said above) and you take small sections of hair and crimp the extension on with a tube or mico ring. Check this out:

This last video is actually from www.yourhairshop.com and was posted on youtube. GREAT micro ring demo.

yea lol ,when i had them in before if the wind blew my hair a certain way or i was goofing off and didnt care about my hair the tracks would show , it seemed like for them to not show youd have to take perfect care of how your hair was placed always and when i felt my head it was just so wierd for me =P Thanks for the vids ... that looks interesting ... but when you move around do the rings show easily if you have thin hair ?

Hey Karen, no I haven't used glamour hair. I know I've referred people to it a few timesLOL My girlfriend gets their seamless wefts and she loves it. She said the hair lasts through several installs. It's also a super easy method. I think it's the same as UltraTress but they only sell to licensed beauticians. Glamour hair wefts don't have a whole lot of hair though. You have to double them up, for sure. I don't know what type of hair they sell. I'm guessing it's not European.

Not that I know of! They are really small and come in different colors to blend with your hair better. My hair is drk brown and I got the brown micro rings to match.

I have really thin blonde hair and I had an install w/extend tubes (same concept as the micro tubes) and the attachments poked out here and there.  It felt like little peebles on my head too.  That method wasn't good for my thin hair.

It is what it is...

I have always heard good things about the glamourhair seamless too.

Microrings can be harder to disguise in thin hair (but any method on thin hair can be harder to disguise near the crown.)

Skin wefts are excellent for thin areas or crowns.
