I am new to this forum but I love it! 
 
I am getting extensions on Mon. 10/1 and I have naturally curly hair that I usually just straighten with an iron and pull back in a pony and I'm SICK OF IT!  A couple of yrs. ago I cut it really short in a chic style and had to use a curly iron to loosen my curly!  I know that sounds strange but it worked. 
 
Anyway, I am going for 16" extensions that are my normal texture curl.  Im' nervous about it.  I just don't know how I'm going to tame my hair on these extensions.  Has anybody else dealt with this? 
 
My hairstylist is good but I was looking for any input?  Also I have heard different things about hairlocs - cold application which is good but that the rings will make your hair break?    Please Help!

Welcome ~

as with ANY type of hair extension, install and removal by a qualified stylist is the key, if it is done correctly and with care, you shouldnt have any problems.
Research your stylist so that you know who is doing your hair, make sure they have a portfolio, references and a website.

well my response was not generic-
if you are getting the same texture extensions as your own hair, you can treat your extensions as your own hair, if you want to dry it with a difuser, it will be curly or if you choose to straighten it, then all of your hair can be straightened with a flat iron after you blow dry it straight.
i have a lot of clients with curly hair, and this is how they treat it- also my hair is naturally curly- most times i wear it straight.

Hi - I'm sorry if I sounded rude in my thinking your response was computer generated.  Again, I'm new on here and need to learn.       I really, really do appreciate you responding to my post.    If others are reading which I see you are, please, please give me your input if you have had extenstions with naturally curly hair.       My hair is like cork screw curly and I'm concerned with how my natural hair will look under/over these extensions!      Again, the extensions are the texture of my hair - curly!    Maybe not "as" curly but they are matched to my texture somewhat.    Thanks for all your help!

Your hair should blend well if it's the same texture.  If you're concerned that they'll be seen at the crown area you can always buy a closure, lace closure or lace frontal. These are pieces designed to cover your crown area, giving your extensions a more natural look. With curly hair, you really want to make sure you brush at the root (the extension bond site) and also get in there with your fingers every day to make sure you're not getting matting at the root.  You stylist should be able to demonstrate how to do this.  If you do that, you should probably be just fine.

Please people give me more responses.  Everyone that did respond - Thanks - your input is helpful!   I was ready to get them taken out yesterday - 1 day from them being put in.  I'm just not used to it and I really do need to have it cut "just little but" shorter.  It is very long - which Im not used to.    I am feeling a little bit better about them - for god's sake - what I paid for the hair and input - I need to learn to enjoy them for a little while.  
 
Maybe I just need to get used to it.   But again - I hate my curly hair under them.  I have to work and work to hide my hair.  I think I need to have my stylist put a few more above my "swirl."

Angsaff, can you post pictures?  I have wavy / curly hair too and do the sew in method. It would help if you post a picture.

Also, by seeing my hair I don't think it will help you much.  I pretty much straighten the top and try to work it into the extensions.  The extensions are more like a spiral perm than like my natural "curly" hair.

Pictures would be ever so helpful.....do you know how to put pictures in photobucket? Trust me....I figured it out and that's saying a whole lot...lol
Just creat an account with them first.....then maybe we all can walk you through getting them on here.
 
I feel your pain with curly hair....I have the same cork screw hair.....layering you hair helps, especially if you are weraing it all one length...which is the hardest hair to cover or get to blend with extensions.
 
Did you have your stylists layer the extensions or did you leave them all one length? If all one length....you need to have her layer them.......and if that isn't enough to blend them, .....well you probably don't have enough extensions in. I know when I wore great lengths I had to have her add almost twice what normal people wear just because of my hair and texture.
 
Also I usually had her put a Japanese straightner on my hair first...which made them blend so much better....but don't do anything like that unless you are ready to say good-bye to those curls.

Current install-Bohyme Bodywave #30 and #14 in the straight hair/ they didn't have the #14 in bodywave, so I mixed them...works great!

Thanks for your response JeepGirl.   I was wondering if you had pictures.  I would love to see your hair.   I'll try photobucket and see if I can work it out.
 
Also, I called my stylist and I'm having her put in some more extensions.  You are right - I don't think she installed enough of them.  Also, I probably would straighten my hair if I could but I have been told that I can't because my hair is colored.     Anyway, I'll see how it goes with a few more extensions to see if I can blend this stuff in any.
