I know I hate that. The picture on the box is rarely accurate (in my opinion)

Thank you both! I did wash it right away, had it trimmed up this morning, and the guy that cuts my hair is going to highlite it for me next week. Washing it did take some of the color out. I still don't understand why it came out darker, the pic on the box was much lighter. Oh well, live and learn!!!Embarrassed

definitely wash it right away - preferrably with a good clarifying shampoo but i've heard of tide and dish soap as well (just make sure you condition good afterward). the color should lighten up quite a bit after a few days of washing. good luck!

If it's too dark for your tastes, wash it now.
Wash it with a harsh shampoo and a lot of the color will come out.
You could even use a dish soap or Tide as I've seen on here to speed the process of lightening.

I colored my hair this morning with Revlon med ash blonde. It is darker than my original hair color! The color turned out okay, it's not brassy or red, but the question I have, is how soon do I have to wait to lighten it? All over or highlights, I think I would like the highlights better, but it is just a bit darker than I'm used to. Also, how long do I have to wait to shampoo?  HELPConfusedConfused
Thanks!!!!
