Hi All~
I am new here (but have been reading) and would like to know if it is possible to make clip-ins out of the seamless wefts they sell at glamourhair. I can't really tell (based on the picture) what the seamless weft is made out of and if it would be conducive to attaching a clip. Anyone familiar with this product, have any thoughts?
I also thought about getting a handtied weft of some sort (bohyme maybe) and attaching the seamless weft to that with LG--then just clipping that contraption to my head. Anyone done something like that?
I have had clip-ins before (machine weft d-lux) and but I never really had the confidence to wear them out, since I felt like you could always see a damn weft if my hair moved at all. I don't think I am ready for protac or a more permanent method, I just want less conspicuous clip-ins. I am open to suggestions.
I have made clip in with seamless wefts but I prefer clip ins with either machine wefted or hand tied hair. It lays flatter on the head, believe it or not. The problem is the seamless, particularly Glamour hair ( it's Ultratress that they sell) each weft is very sparse. So I found I have to sew two or three seamless strips together to get a decent density per track.
I have found in general when you sew the clips into the poly backing of the seamless weft, it makes the poly buckle, and again is doesn't lay nice and flat anymore. Furthermore, I found that making a width for a track (most people's heads are 10"-12") to span the head, this hair, especially when doubled up with clips sewn on it, it really doesn't lay flat to the head. I've had so much more trouble disguising my seamless clip in than the other types.
My favorite clip ins are hand tied, and I sew several pieces together on my sewing machine to get my density per track. When I sew them together, I stagger each one, so it doesn't get too bumpy. This method has worked well for me.
I've heard the glamour hair seamless tracks is the same as ultratress yet the ultratress seemed more dense than the glamour hair seamless. The glamour hair seamless is quite sparse actually. Anyway, I wouldn't make clip ins out of either brand. I did see some gorgeous clip ins made from a seamless weft at The Hair Shop on Wilshire. The wefts were dense and the poly backing was a lot more substantial than glamour hair or ultratress poly backings.
