Topic: What are Shrinkies and how do they work? Posted: December 11 2007 at 2:55pm |
Can someone tell me how shrinkies are applied? Do you need special tools, etc. I am looking for a good way to apply my own hair. Do they hold well?
Thanks

"shrinkies (also known as Shrink Links, which is
the branded Mark Barrington salon version, and some people also use
dual-wall shrink tubing for this); they are clear tubes that, when
heated with a clamp/wand, "shrink" around pretipped extensions strands
with your own hair to keep them in place.
"
HTH..
If you want more information and install posts, you could do a search for more posts in the extensions forum..

Shrinkies are a great way to put in prebonded hair or loose bulk hair. Check out this sight for more info... http://www.doctoredlocks.com/store/prod-0344.html They are a very popular item that we carry here at Doctored Locks! I love them! They work great on my clients.

Hi - I have a question about which fusion heat tool is best for applying i-tip hair extensions, using Shrinkies. So is it best to use a flat tip fusion wand, or a grooved-tip fusion wand while installing shrinkies? thnx

Hi,
See this video to know how you can implement shinkies hair extensions.

Shrinkies are applied in a similar way to micro rings and are either clear plastic or dark plastic of about 1cm length. Heat is used to tighten up the shrinkies hair extensions

I have used shrinkies and like them a lot but have found some shrinkies do slip out. Make sure hair is very very clean and dry before applying them , dont use heat or conditioners near them and dont buy the cheap ones. some must have less adhesive lined bc I have tried different companies and some do slip more than others. Also make sure to heat them all the way till they are fully closed around the hair. Airbubbles are bad. :) Caren
