Hal...Thanks!! and omg YES! love the color. apparently it wont stay in long....so i'm gonna have to go bak to have it done. after a couple of weeks..two-four....i wash a lot (trying not to) so i might have to go back sooner rather than later. I really want to try purple later ;)
i went in for another cut. its SLIGHTLY shorter, but not much, and RED RED RED!
i love it!!!
this was the color i had been after for a LONG time and the guy didn't get what i wanted last time. went back and we talked and he used a differnet product. anyway i'm very happy with it! photos in one sec!

hal, i DONT style it!!! ;) I never have...so i just watched him do it and i hope to repeat that tomorrow. today i had to take off early so it looked not so hot this am :) really flatter than yesterday...he just blew it out...shaking it up and put a little bit of product into it...looked just kinda fuller than it does in the photos...a little more lift?? does that make sense? but you can kinda see the layers, just more height to them, altho not like old lady looking :)
enjoying it so far!!!
The color is nice but not enough for me...so i'm lookin forward to getting it done again in two months or so!
:) :)

we went in a TOTALLY different direction, but i have to say i love it. definately taking another inch or so off next time, probably shorter in the back and not so much in the front...
okay. SO....i went in and met the guy...i love him. he reminds me of my
best friend. he's cute and very
sweet and seemed knowledgeable. didnt just tell me what i wanted to hear and kinda talked to me alot to find out what was best for me..
so he asks some questions and when i told
him i wanted red, he saw my old highlights and said it was hard to
rehighlite it now cuz of those orangy remnants...so he did all over
color to sort of PERK up the old highlites for now. it was way cheaper,
plus he said it buys us time to grow more hair out before we REdo
highlightes in a much redder shade. this is red/violet with red
boosters and looks nice in the light, but you probably wont see how
much color is in it in these photos. it does have some nice color tho!!!
I
LOVE THE CUT! here, again, is like an hour later, so it fell a lot from
handling it and stuff.....he blew it out one way to show how easy it
was then he showed me a differnet do, and after that, it realy didnt go
bak to the more full, short of sloppy but cute look it had. its layered
and cut with razors...he went all edward scissorhands on me! lol
here is before...took it myself before i left:
this is now:
i wish i took pics right after it was done cuz omg it looked awesome LOL
My husband was so happy i didn't go shorter, and suprisingly, couldnt keep his eyes off me! he COULD
NOT stop grinning and kept complimenting me. lol. he SOOOO loved it and that is always good!
he
loves the color and sees it way more in person than in the photos....i
am gonna go bck to this guy again after about 2 months and we will do
it MORE red and i'll probably go shorter. i told him to do whatever,
just shorter than it was, EASY and to look good. so he kinda went at
it and i'm really happy with it! we will see how i feel tomorrow when i get to see it in the daylite and fix it myself! hopefully i still love it!!!
thanks for looking!!

To get the photo, just save it to your desktop and go to Target.com Go to their photo site on line and upload the photo, enter your zipcode and Voila, the print can be printed in color at their store within the hour. Its cheap also. You can do that for just about any photo you want, just be sure about copyrigth laws!
Good luck, and you can always gradually get it cut shorter. My wife did the same thing, she was at her shoulders about 5 years ago, and gradually went shorter. Now she has her hair cut short in the back and angled towards the front ending up about just past chin length.
No pun intended, but you can "grow" into you new short look, taking it shorter and shorter each time until you reach that length that you feel comfortable with.
Good luck and remember what HAWG says "Don't think about how much hair is being cut, think about how great it is going to look.
If it helps, and you are not adverse to it, go have a glass of vino ( or any other beverage of your choice) to relax before the cut (I took my wife to have lunch an a beverage)

I've said this before: Don't think about how much hair is being cut, think about how great it is going to look. We'll be thinking about you on Wednesday; can't wait to hear how it went.
THANKS again everyone! I am not sure i'll have the cajones to REALLY DO what i want....i keep telling myself IT WILL GROW OUT!!! but i'm such a chicken. been talking about doing this for ages and for a LONG LONG time my husband kinda kept me from doing it (cuz i knew of his preference for long hair) but now i'm just feeling the need to try something new. guess i get this bug every few years. i've denied it for years now and its about time i try it.
we'll see how it comes out.
i made an appt and i'm going to get it done on wednesday evening!!!! :) STOKED!!!!

who are you talking to aish?? i dont belong to 'traditional' society i guess :) and i'm not Sihk either :) guess that is good news if you guys don't do all those things you listed! I hate not having my eyebrows done!!!!
LOVE LOVE LOVE the photos esp the first few you posted here conrad!! really getting excited. about to call and make an appt. going with a high end place cuz i dont have a local place yet as i've only moved here afew months ago and have never had my hair cut. family and friends are no help becuase they don't do hair cuts and dyes....my gf just got hers done at supercuts or something so no help from her either!
The last time i had it done it looked a little like the girl in the last photo except it was more of a straight edge and not choppy at the ends like hers is. and the more i'm seeing of the NONstraight edge (is there a name for that???) the more i'm liking it! like in the first three you posted!!!
i want to be able to reference something to the person doing my hair...so what do i call those kinda cuts??? i havent found anything like that in a magazine yet and if i print these out they probably wont look too hot (in b&w and all).
great site btw!! still looking at it now.
thanks!

I belong to traditional society, Sikh religion, and in Sikhism, cutting or snipping is absolutely no-no. And, about eyebrows, even this is not allowed, nor underarm shave, nor pubeshave. Hindus, not all, allow haircutting, however, and even sometimes shave off heads, for the spiritual reasons. O if I were Hindu!!!
